here’s a Christmas gift for you.

If your having issues or have technical questions concerning your Kohler marine generator,
Go to Facebook and ask to join “Service Kohler Marine Generator Group”. The guy that runs this site owns this company in Athens Greece. He exclusively repairs Kohler marine generators and helped me, step by by to trouble shoot my 5ecd. Even with the time-zone difference, we were user messenger, step by step at midnight his time! This guy seriously knows his stuff, and a super nice guy. Tell him I sent ya!

I found it no problem. Thanks for that.

Awesome, will be checking that out. What was your issue and fix with your 5ecd? I have the same and suspecting fuel pump issues.

good to know for the next gen broke event...lol

Troubleshooted mine wayyyyy deep. The ^ arrow button was rusted off the circuit board . Water intrusion. Big burn spot.
New adc2100 controller 1 boat buck. Should arrive tomorrow.

Success!!
New ADC pulled all the pieces together!

I am not impressed with the paint job and general marine grade quality of my 5ecd. All the paint on the aluminum easily chips off in large flakes. Did not adhere well from factory. Interestingly it's worse on the generator side. The steel parts, brackets, adc are also in poor shape. Working on repainting the bad parts.

I haven't started mine up since removing it from boat, but biggest question I had was if it's normal to not have any fuel come out the shrader valve (when pushing it down and on or primming mode) on the high pressure water cooled fuel pump. The downstream shrader valve at the fuel injector has fuel when pushed down, so I don't understand why the first one doesn't. I took the valve off entirely and it's bone dry in there.

I'd also like to know what the expected pressure of the high pressure fuel pump is supposed to be. I assume not even techs know unless they measure it on working units.

Figured I'd throw those questions out in case anyone knows or wants to measure it.
