I have a 04 360 sd and am thinking about changing pitch on my props for next season. Has anyone tried adding pitch to your 360? I run at wot 4800 rpm with full fuel, water and dinghy on back. I feel like I could pick up some cruise speed and lower my cruise rpm some with a little more pitch. I have 21” x23 pitch four blade props.

Yes Sundancer 360 DA
I looked at that thread and I didn’t see where anyone had tried more pitch on their props even though there are several who claim that their engines rev higher than recommended rpm at wot

I have a 2006 38DA which is probably similar in size and weight to your 2004 360DA. I have the 21 x 22.5/23 props and just recently had an inch of pitch added to reduce the overevving. Whilst I have only driven it once last weekend since it was dropped back in the water. In less than perfect conditions it seems to have dropped the revs by circa 200 at both WOT and cruise.

Based on your specs I would say another inch of pitch to your props would have a similar effect on your rpms which would put your WOT right at about 4600 to 4650 rpms which is perfect IMO.

Did you notice any difference in your gph at cruise speed?

Fuel economy is not something I usually monitor and the conditions were less than perfect on the maiden trip after the props were tweaked to accurately monitor - driving into a forecast 1.7 metre swell, some chop and moderate wind.

That said, the smartcraft was showing total usage of 130 litres an hour at 3600 rpm which compares to Boat test results for this boat of 130 litres an hour at 3500 rpm for a much lighter loaded boat than I would have had.
