Sea Ray Homecoming, The Coolest CSR Gathering Ever...

Wingle$$ was very active on SROC...answering every question with links to another site somewhere. His cool mods were his typical fare, from the inane to the ones that would hurt you or mame your loveones......or total your boat.

Then he dissappeared.....which suits me.

But, it may be the masochist in me, but I do miss his verbal jousting with Four Suns, in which Wingless was way out gunned.

Oh man... I hadn't thought about that for a long time either... that was always GOLD...

Sea Ray homecoming was an awesome event to say the least!

Fixed the embedded video for those that are interested!

I love that video, you did a great job with it! It really shows all the aspects of the event and CSR friends meeting. The only thing missing is the CSR members sharing whisky and cigars late Thursday night with Jim. That is probably a good thing.

That was better than any TV show...

I wish I was around when this event was held. But I’m looking forward to meeting and mingling with members at future gatherings.

When this was posted the thinking was newer members would find this interesting. Not a single newer member commented. I expected posts like how can we do this again and so on.

It was a great time and I enjoyed thinking and discussing it here again.

If someone is thinking of putting something like this together, I would be interested... and willing to help anyway that I can.

Oh my....(as I wipe a tear away). Kinda' of wish I hadn't seen this again simply because it speaks volumes to me. A corporation who welcomed owners like they were family, and allowed us to play with all the cool toys. Rob Noyes was paramount to this event happening, and for making it such a great success. I have been fortunate to know dedicated corporate officers who remind us that there are real people with real passionate hearts. AND for you guys, the owners of the brand...you were never taken for granted by these guys and gals....this event was proof of that, period! The friends I made on that day, stick with me like best friends do....if I name one of you, I name you all!
I have said it before, I am just a factory employee who has been eaten up with a passion called Sea Ray Boats. I lay awake at night thinking how blessed I have been in meeting and knowing all the owners I now call friends. But what I lack is the ability to make my dreams and visions turn into reality. So don't you know why I tip my hat to Mr. Webster! Frank has been a dear friend, a mentor and a counselor to me...and last but certainly not least, a person who has taught me how to turn vision into action. I fondly call him the "results department" because he creates just that for me every time I dip my bucket in the Webster Well....and you haven't even met the Webster I am endeared to the most, Ms. Fran, whom has graciously invited me into her home on more than one occasion.
Yes things have changed, and may change even more before our journey ends, but make no mistake, our commonality of being Sea Ray fans has paid many more dividends to me than I ever thought possible. Sea Ray has a great Marketing Team now, so we can only hope such an event like this happens again, I know they would love it to be as well....do we have bragging rights???....do you know the entire Sea Ray Marketing Team is comprised of only Ladies ! Put that in your testosterone cup boys! Ms. Shelby Kirby and staff are the biggest jewel in Sea Rays crown, and I love them all!

I will post more in the near future but for now, thank you Mike for taking us all down memory road....I have to pause before I short out this keypad !

Love you, Love Sea Ray!

We thank you so much and we all so appreciate what you do for us.

Mike,
When we had our small rendezvous in South Haven a couple years ago, Captain Rusty put me in contact with Shelby Kirby and her staff to promote our get together. She did a great job connecting us with B&E Marine of Michigan City but it was a mater of timing and while it had the potential of being a big event we had fun with those who turned out.
Wish we had more events to connect!

We need to organize one again. I'll start the thread

If you want another Homecoming like the one in Knoxville, then the logistical problems for Sea Ray need to be factored in.

Sea Ray has only one factory in the central US now Vonore TN, which is about an hour west of Knoxville, so accomodations and restaurants will require a commute for most.

Airline service to Knoxville is not great.

There is limited dock space at Vonore.

The annual dealer's school is now held at a resort on Lake Lanier North of Atlanta. All the dealer's sales people stay at the resort during the dealer's meeting, so accomodations will be limited, however, this is in NE Atlanta and there are tons of motels/restaurants nearby.

It is too early after the reorganization for Sea Ray to have a firm grasp on the amount of money they can invest on events like this.

Larger boat owners will not be very interested in a plant tour for boats they have outgrown.

So, we may be a year early on a Homecoming that involves Sea Ray, but we can certainly have a gathering on our own.
