Hey all,
03 420 DA
12k cruisair system salon
Error code PS
Unit in heat mode comes on for 3-5 seconds then codes up
Tried switching from ac to heat
Water flow overboard okay
Split t at domestic pump for both units
Filter and coils clean
Water temp 43

Any suggestions prior to using as anchor?

Is it flashing LO PS? If so, water is to cold for heat. 43 is pretty cold.

Front system is operational and cranking heat. Usually good to about 39-40 degrees from previous history. My thought was the reversing valve. It is too cool inside to turn ac on as temps are too low to trigger t stat.

Try heating it up real good in there and then exercise the reversing valve. Some units are more sensitive to cold water than others. If you have water flow don't think it would be the trigger. Marine heat pumps aren't very efficient below middle 40s. Low refrigerant could also cause LO PS.

A little off topic, but which type of refrigerant does my Cruisair AC/Heat have? I assume it is R12, which is obsolete or very expensive.

Dennis, your 1988 will have R22 which is still available thru licensed technicians. It will be phased out in 2020.

MM not sure what you are asking. Generators don't use refrigerants. If you are asking what refrigerant was used in 2000 it most likely is R134a. Widely available.

Low and behold a rap with the 16 mm against the reversing valve and viola! 75 degrees in the salon. Thanks sir!
You should cycle the unit from heating to cooling or vice versa on occasion to keep the reversing from sticking. Some residential units automatically cycle the reversing valve whenever a call for heating/cooling is done just for that reason.
