Does FP sell new tracks? I also need a set of wheels. Where can I find some? The track must have broke from the pressure and it being 18* today. It already was broken, but not bad. Thank god it broke where I can see. I'm going to piece it together I guess because there is no way to replace the whole track without taking the entire helm/dash off.

This I guess? I have to measure. https://www.fpmarine.com/Plastic-sliding-door-track-and-rollers-p/door-track-top-alum-black.htm

Boatoutfitters.com

They have all the track options and trucks for sea ray.

Thanks. Has I'm wondering how hard it is if I pull the gauges for access to replace the whole track. has anyone ever done this before ?

I haven’t done this on a 340 but I have on our 460. You will only want to do this once. My advice is to replace all the trucks and tracks at one time.

Spartech Marine made most of the tracks and trolly assemblies for Sea Ray in the late 90's and early 2000's. They closed their marine division in about 2010. The owner of Flounder Pounder hired one of the key guys from Spartech when they closed. So if you call them for your needs, ask for Ben Marx. Flounder Pounder is great for recently obsoleted parts since they buy from Sea Ray when they stop making a model, on a 15 year old door assy, I doubt they will be of much help.

Teak Isle bought the Spartech molds and inventory and picked up both the new and repair business. You can look at the Teak Isle website but I think they adopted a new trade name which was posted in post #2.

What is preferred? FP want's like $142 Shipped and Boat outfitters $158. Both Aluminum tracks with 2 new trucks.

I replaced the tracks and sliding door on my old 340da and didn’t need to remove the helm. It isn’t an easy job but not that hard either

What year 340 did you have? It looks like I won't be able to fit a 60" Aluminum track in there without cutting in 2. The plastic I could bend to fit. I may have to cut the track at 30" and butt them together. I'll see when it comes in. The screws were a little of a pain, but I got them out.

It was a 2005. It was a few years back now but I don’t think I cut it. I replaced it with the plastic track and I was able to swing it into place as once piece.

I can pull the door back and slide it like the pic shows. The plastic will make the bend down, but the aluminum wont. I don't think I can get it in through the gauges either. I'll have to try once it arrives.
The track wont fit under the door in one piece.

I had the door out when I replaced mine so maybe there was more room to get the tracks out?

You were able to get the door all the way out? I was thinking of that, but didn't think it could be done. If I unscrew the bottom trucks, It will come out? I would somehow love to get my door fixed also because its warped. I'm sure the fix I did added to the cause of the plastic track breaking when it was cold. Here is what I did to fix the scraping this summer.

from one of the pics it looks like you have full access to the piece of the track that broke off....if so i would try 'JB Plastic Weld' on the broken piece of track to see if it will hold it in place....it is very strong...i have used it many times on some repairs where i thought it would fail but it worked well.....

good luck....

It's also cracked under the helm.

Yes, it will come out with some persuasion. My door was faded a nice pink color and I found a door so I changed it out. When I had it out I changed the tracks and trucks out at the same time.

I think I can help you with this. I've had my hatch door out several times and I completed this exact repair in 2016. I obtained parts from BoatOutfitters.com. My door tended to sag like yours does, so I added a third truck to the bottom track and to the top track (in in the center of the door, between the existing tracks) to help keep the door from sagging in the heat. Replace all your trucks while you're at it.

You will need the following from BoatOutfitters: (1) Boat sliding door upper track SKU 148-1164-53, length, 53". (3) Boat Sliding Door Truck B, .975" tall, SKU 016-1038 (This is for the upper track). (3) Boat Sliding Door Track A, .885" tall, SKU 016-1037 (This is for the lower track).

You've already figured out how to access the upper track by removing your instrument panel. I think I also moved my compass so I could get another hand in there.

To get the hatch out, unscrew the lower truck from the hatch. Once you get the screws out, it comes out pretty easily.
Accessing the old screws in the upper track is tricky. Of course, I had one stubborn screw that gave me problems. As I recall, I used a stubby screwdriver to get in there.

The best thing I did was adding the third truck to the top and bottom of the door. To install that third truck, use a countersink bit so the screw heads sit flush with the door, just as the original equipment trucks were installed. Measure twice and drill once, lol.

Good luck, you can do this!
Tim

mnm99, I just saw your thread on replacing your transmission. You’re freaking amazing. Changing this track should be child’s play for you.
