On my 260 Sundancer, I have two light switches just above the sink. One is marked DC and turns on the light close to it. The other switch is marked AC, and when plugged in to external power, appears to do nothing. I know it's designed to do something, but I can't figure out what light or outlet it controls. I'm sure some of you smart guys know what it's there for.

Even though my boat is a much older and different model , I have the same 2 switches. the twelve volt turns on little recessed cans and there is another light, a fluorescent strip tucked behind a valance that is 120 v, and is kind of hard to see come on during the day. Maybe your bulb is burned out, take a close look under any shelve or valance or ledge where it might be tucked.

This is the answer for your boat, the fluorescent light above the sink has 2 bulbs in one fixture, one AC bulb, and one DC bulb. If you are on shore power and have both tha AC and DC on and both switches on it should be brighter than with just one switch.

Thank you for your reply, and you are exactly correct. I just checked and the AC bulb is missing. The original boat owner must have removed it when it burned out. Now, would you happen to know the bulb designation so I can get a replacement. If not, I'll take a pic of the receptacle with my phone and see if someone at the store knows the answer.

You might be ahead of the game by getting a 120v led fixture and be done with it, thats what I did with my 120v light when it went bad also it seemed like the fixture was always hot, hotter than I thought it should be now with led's its cool.

As noted above, your local dealer can get it - may even have it in stock. It's a hard to find European base (E14, I believe) as I seem to recall the light is made in Italy. But you can get an adapter at any decent lighting store to adapt down to a slightly smaller base so you could use much more readily available bulbs. It would be an E14 to E12 adapter. I suppose Google could help you find this, too. The previous owner probably never replaced it because it was hard to find, or didn't know where to look, and gave up.

The numbers above do not mean much to me, but I thought the fixture he was asking about was a dual AC/DC fixture with fluorescent bulbs, one for each.

(I meant the reference to the owner's manual)

No, in that boat, there is no fluorescent light above the galley (or anywhere, for that matter). It is, indeed, a dual voltage fixture - but the 120v is a normal incandescent and the 12V is one of those little halogen pin-base thingies.

Carry on, I stand corrected. I thought the 260 carried forward the 2 bulb fixture.
