2004 340 Transmission removal, without pulling engine thread.

I was thinking about that damn flywheel dust cover shield last night..lol. I ended up waking up at 4:30am this morning without my alarm. I don't have to be at work till 7am

Thanks. If I have to I can loosen up the port/starboard adjuster leg and take the entire mount with the angle aluminum off as one.

OK thought you were using the stringers to support the tranny

No, I have a small come along that will be supporting it from a beam overhead. I'm going to hoist it up after it's disconnected from the engine. It will take the weight off the stringer just enough to wiggle it around.

If you lose another night of sleep, I'd recommend the 430AM trip again... After all, you don't have to work until 7AM.... Can't say I've never done that one on a million different projects over the years! My mind is always going 100 mph until I get something done!

This is so messed up. My mind is at ease knowing this could and almost is getting done, but once again it's friggin 4:40 and I'm up.. I know what happened. Last week my shift changed because I wanted to do some training. My normal shift is 7am-3:30pm. I worked 10pm-6am for a week straight. That really messes up your internal clock. Anyway..I'm going out to the boat now to work on my stereo project..lol. I'm adding 3 Amps, 2 speakers and a new head unit.

Okay guys here's an early present.. After the prep work it took 20 min to get her out. There is plenty of room and little to no persuading. The engine needs very little support to hold it in place. I ended up taking (2) 2x6 beams and a support ,thinking it was going to be heavy as hell. Well now that it's out I'll take off the bell housing and replace the flywheel. I'll post back with more updates soon....IT CAN BE DONE in the boat !!:D
