hey guys, just wondering if I should keep it on or off for the winter, keep the boat on the side of the house plug into sure power. I'll usually run a bildge and cabin heater but was wondering about fridge. Thanks again, Tony

+1 no reason to run the compressor unless you need to keep something cold. Although if you have easy access running it for 10mins a month can't hurt it. Just to keep parts moving and lubricate the internals.

I never run my fridge unless I'm going to use it. Winter, I clean it out real good and leave the door open with no power.

This reminds me... I need to stock my fridge... ;)

Once the boat gets blocked up I shut them down, clean them thoroughly and prop the doors open for the winter.

We close the fridge and the ice maker for storage. I do a very good job of cleaning and disenfecting both two weeks before putting the boat away. I leave the doors open for the two weeks so their interiors are bone dry when the boat is pulled. Both remain fresh in the spring. While our storage facility is clean, I just feel better putting things away clean and keeping things that way during layup.

That looks like a real treat! I had a chocolate, peanut butter porter last night... mmmmmm......

For me, though, I can't have too many of these in a row - one is usually plenty and then it gets to be "too much". But I do enjoy trying different things.

They are definitely one and done beers. What we like to do is get 3-4 different beers and get a 3-4 ounce pour of each, tasting as we visit. Can sample so many more that way.

I like to put things away clean as well for many reasons, not the least being, it feels so much better in the spring and I don't dwell on it being dirty all winter.

We leave it on, but we also frequent the boat during the winter. I can tell you that during winter, you need to set it on a warmer setting. I have had sodas expose on more than one occasion when I didn’t change the setting.
