Great! I get a call that an old Grand Banks has sunk across the marina from my boat AGAIN. Since December of 2017 this boat has sunk twice and another similar boat sank within a week of the first sinking. All three times these boats have sunk they covered the marina in diesel. Our marina is managed by lovely municipal workers whose hands are tied by a city manager that won’t enforce eviction action so these old boats sit uninsured and un-maintained.
I’ve not seen any long lasting negative affects to my boat which has a modified epoxy anti fouling bottom paint but I can’t imagine it’s good for it.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
It’s funny that I’m always careful while fueling my boat to make sure I don’t spill any fuel and face a $10,000 fine for creating a ‘sheen’. These clowns have not been fined a red cent for covering an entire marina three times.
In the same time frame three other gassers have gone down due to poor condition.
I’m seriously considering moving the boat 20 miles further from home to get to a better managed marina.
Just Venting
