When I was searching to purchase a boat I came across this photo. This is a 2005 searay 340, I currently own a 2007 340 and would like to know where I can purchase these speaker housings in this photo.

Those are JL Audio speakers. They are widely available. Try Crutchfield.

Neat idea. I was looking for the same thing. After looking at them, I would never do it. There too big and gauky...

Just cut holes into the fiberglass and mount the speakers like every other speaker on the boat!

My two cents - buy two JL pods and mount them inside your transom locker. Pop the locker door open when you want the music. Close it when you're not using the boat, save the speakers from exposure and save the two MASSIVE holes you'd need to cut in your glass to make those buckets happen.

Not too long ago someone I think posted mounting speakers in pods to removable light mounts normally used for stern lights on small boats. Instead of powering the lights the connection was used for the speaker. That would make them removable and directional. It was an interesting concept and something else to consider.
