Recommendations for a good group 31 AGM Battery.

I have the same Intellipower 40 amp charger as you.
No problem with the Sam's club group 31 AGM batteries .
+1, have the intellipower PD2030 older charger, similar to what you guys have, and one year with Duracell AGMs and so far so good.

Some Manufactures use the old style case to produce AGM type batteries. Since all the acid is suspended within the cell and there is no reason to access the cell, they are sealed. Chuck

Are they sealed as in you would have to break them or sealed like the screw down caps are on tight? Optima batteries are sealed to the point they can be mounted upside down, can these?

AGM's can be mounted in any direction.

AGM's can be mounted in any direction.
My understanding is any direction EXCEPT upside down. Sideways, okay, angled, okay, but not upside down. Not sure where I am getting that from, so take it with a grain of salt! Maybe others can confirm or find some definitive proof.

You look correct, not sure when they updated this suggestion as they used to say you could mount it upside down. Probably right after being served the lawsuit. LOL

"Our batteries can also be mounted in a variety of orientations, although we do not recommend mounting them upside down. If you do mount one of our batteries on it's side, we encourage you to consider mounting it securely, with the vent ports oriented on the top side of the battery"

As in any statement, reasoning has a place in mounting. Having said that and after years of flying hard aerobatics at 9+ and 4- G's and in every conceivable position you can think of with AGM batteries..... I think that they can handle any position! Just saying.... :)

I'm sure it is just a CYA in case an idiot putts on upside down over a flaming exhaust. LOL
