420 DA Thread

Does anyone know what these are used for, and what kind of engine data I can pull from here? They are located under the helm area, below the steering wheel. My Smartcraft is almost unreadable, and I am researching alternatives.

Thanks,

Matt
If you have the smartcraft sc5000, there is a guy named Mike on here that will fix the display and make it readable. Might be something to consider.

Good idea...can you get clear?... like the film that goes on your car for stone chips

I originally wanted clear, but Wally World only had white. Liked the way it turned out on the white sections so I'll rock that for a while. Surprised at how well it blends in.

Will keep my eye out for clear. Will also probably get my neighbor to cut them out on her Cricut so they are a little nicer.

Thanks Todd. I have been in touch with Mike, however in the meantime I stumbled upon a new sc5800 that I am going to try. I may still send the old one to Mike.

Thanks,

Matt

I am looking for Mike. I searched SC5000 in this forum can't find. Anyone have his contact info?

I want to replace the “44” on my transom. Anyone know if there is a place that sells them? I looked at Flounder Pounder and Great Lakes already. Maybe just have them made????

I used these guys and replaced all factory appliqués from them. They have the right fonts and they stuck like they were supposed to. https://www.domednumbers.com/

I'm currently looking at an 04 420 that needs to have the motor mounts on both engines redone. has anyone done this? Looking for some real world pricing. Based on my early discussions a local shop who hasn't looked at the boat say roughtly 5k.

do they need to be replaced because they are somehow broken- or - are they rusted away. either way that's kinda young for motor mounts.

noted as end of service life. They don't appear to be rusted.

Who determined “end of service life?” If they are qualified to render that opinion they should take you into the bilge and point out the engine mount problem for you to examine.

This was discovered during survey. No signs of rust but during the backdown test and at idle it was more apparent on one motor vs the other(6 out of the 8 were termed "end of service life").
