I replaced the galley faucet with a Kohler home model and it pulses on the pump. No other faucet does that, including the head faucets that have the water saver washer removed.

Any idea why?

GUESS-- your new faucet does not flow more then 1.6 gallon per minute and your pump can flow more like 3.0 gph(at the faucet) and it supplies to much, so it turns pump off, loses pressure quickly then turns back on.

Try your other faucets but only open them to a big trickle and see if it cause the same pump reaction.

The other faucets do not cause the pump to pulse at low, medium or high water volume. I have tried several combinations to create this at other locations.

I cannot find a water saver washer to remove on the new faucet, is there one?

Do you think you may have an air pocket? This is kind of gross but if you suck on the faucet some times you can free up the air pocket.

The water saver feature is in the aerator. Unscrew it and see if that solves the problem. If so, then you need to find one that flows more water.

Agree with JVM. Try w/o the aerator. If it works OK, take the aerator completely apart - sometimes you can modify/drill out the disc that is the limiting part or drill out certain holes to be a little bigger.

Mike, I had to replace some of my aerators and there were only 1.6gpm versions available on the hardware store shelf. Their restriction caused the pulsating to start that you are seeing. I hunted around and found some 2.0gpm aerators and that got it back to normal.

On the pull out faucets the flow is somewhat limited by the tiny hose they use for the pull down, its like 3/16 i.d.

There just has to be a restrictor so place that can be removed. May need to call Kohler.

I bought a 2.0 gym aerator for my galley faucet on Amazon. That solved my pulsating problem.

I may see where it is
Part number 1164600 check that part with Koehler, in the spec sheet it states 1.5 gph, I’m thinking that is why the pulses are occurring. Just guessing though. Koehler will know for sure. Hope this helps.

I think I may see that part and how to get to it. Go to 3:30 to about 3:50 on the video.
