I want to add the "Auto Guidance" feature..... so I need to buy a G2 Chart should I wait for the G3 to come out, currently scheduled for Feb 2019?

There's a lot of buzz about the G3 (Navionics). I'd be tempted to wait. Having said that, I never use AG. My auto-pilot can't follow it, and if when I steer manually, I don't like how it cuts buoys/channels etc.
I use Homeport instead. I have carefully-created and named WP's and routes for nearly everywhere I want to go. When I need a route that I haven't already created, I use the Active Captain app to make one (and sync it) on the fly.

I have not seen the pricing yet but I expect it will be more. I think the major benefit will be the higher resolution bottom contours for fisherman. I personally already prefer the garmin maps to navionics anyway. So if you could make use of the G2 charts in the next few months then get them now.
