I hear other 400 owners on here talk about their ice maker in the cockpit. I'm confused because while my ice maker location seems to have a factory installed device - it's just a freezer really. It has a clear ice "bucket" in it, but all it can do is keep stuff frozen. It doesn't have any water plumbed to it. Does anyone have a setup like this? Does anyone know if they installed different types of freezers with some plumbed and some not?

Ice maker was probably an option, sounds like you have the refrig/freezer option

The ice maker was standard. A refrigerator in that space was the option. I had the fridge - so no water line. It rotted away from salt air and I replaced it with a door, to use the space as storage.

If you post a picture we can tell you if what you have was installed at factory or a previous owner replaced it

I'll take a pic to show you guys. I'm pretty sure it's factory, and I've had it pulled out while replacing the sink faucet. I don't see any plumbing, and the "device" (whatever it is) seems to work. I haven't run it long enough to know if it freezes or just refrigerates. It look likes it has an ice bucket inside of the unit, so it's a little confusing.

I have what you’re talking about in my 1997 330 EC It’s a Raritan freezerette it’s just the cockpit freezer for bait or anything frozen summertime mines packed full of ice cream

How long is it? The ice makers are super long/deep and stick way back into the compartment. The fridge is taller than it is deep.

This is what I guess I have. Just seems strange that most people talk of a ice maker. I think it might even be labeled that on the power panel. Anyway, here are a couple of pics.

Ahhh. You have a Sundancer. I made a wrong assumption it was the Sedan Bridge. Looks like a fridge, but hopefully a Sundancer owner will post.

You're correct that it's not a Sedan Bridge, but it's not a Sundancer either. It's an Express.

The inside of the device is missing the actual ice maker where the ice cubes are harvested, I didn't see a thermostat, so I'll conclude it is a dedicated freezer.
