The start of the Fall boating season

Colors like these make you want to have one more color tour of our West Michigan lake. The maples have been spectacular this year. It was 58 today with no wind. However, we are close to November and Michiganians know snow can be a major event this time of the year. I put the winter tires on the Porsche today.

Sbw1.. Very nice property you have there.... Not sure about snow tires on a Porsche ... Kinda like putting ice skates on a boat :)

Thanks. Ran the car last year with smaller 18" wheels and skinnier Porsche approved tires. It did OK but is not as good as the Audi Quattro with Blizzaks that I used to run. But then the TTSs were not as good as the Porsch in the summer. Porsche winter tires are actually quite good and you need to guard against becoming overconfident. I drive it like a little old lady in the winter. I like the boat sled. Is that a one off or a common local solution on your lake"

Yep. It's my daily driver. Pretty common practice in Germany. Porsche winter tires work really well.

No boating pics to share with y'all but here are two photos from our weekend in Sedona, AZ last weekend. And yes, those red rocks are REALLY that red.

I concur.
I would give it a D “minus” this year.

I was hoping for something similar to last fall.

Heading to the pumpout dock today to empty the tank and get ready to winterize next weekend. It will be the first time the boat has left the dock since Columbus Day. Big difference from last year.

One of Fall's last harahs. Nice Sunrise before the wet cold weather moved in for the Weekend.

Very cool, Got a pic?

These are the summer wheels and tires. Winter wheels have wider spokes for ease of cleaning and are 18" instead of 19". Tires are an inch skinnier to make going through snow easier. The summer tires are 200 MPH speed rated and the winters are rated for 150MPH.

Very nice! Beautiful. You have an awesome property.

Haul out was 2 1/2 weeks ago for me.
A crappy 10 day forecast and 2 week training class meant The end of my season.

Some pictures from the annual fall boat cruise our marina hosts each year. 30 boats this year, we take a trip up to the far reaches of Lake Norman and return to the marina for a BBQ lunch. An excuse for one last boat ride and to look at the fall colors. I might get one more day on the late - usually put the boat up the week of Thanksgiving.
