just bought the boat and was attempting to conplete oil change but could not. I have the hull through oil drain but no oil came out however I was on slight hill and not was leaning towards drivers side. Is the oil pan drain on passenger side?

the oil pan is in the center of the engine and the hose comes out from the bottom center of the pan. You should put a hand pump on the end of that hose to aid in pumping out verses gravity draining.
You should also see a threaded garden type hose fitting on the dipstick tube, can attach a hand pump there too, the tube goes to the bottom of the oil pan

Did you warm it up first?

Even when warm, oil drains out very slowly.

did you take the oil fill cap off - it will help let air in to displace the oil - and +1 on warming it up first

Engine was warmed up for 15min and oil cap was removed. Oil was barely dripping out. Dip stick shows correct amount of oil in pan. Just to clarify there is no petcock to open to use the hull through oil drain?

No petcock.
Previous owner may have only pumped it out from the dipstick and you could have some sludge in the hose from lack of use.

Put a vacuum pump on it, rig it up with some hose and try to pull the blockage out.

Vacuuming it out is easiest thing you can do. I bought an inexpensive ($29.) oil change pump - rigged it to a hose which screwed in the dipstick tube.

One thing you want to watch for - the 5.0 dipstick tube is a compound bend. The dipstick on one of my engines broke off from fatigue of inserting in that compound bend. In order to remove the remainder of the dipstick the manifold had to taken off.

Sounds good I’ll do the vacuum on hull through drain and look into replacing dipstick. Thanks for all the help everyone
