Engines
Twin mercruiser MAG 350 MPI w/ Bravo III
How do I open and close the engine compartment without battery power? I don’t have shore power either where I am trying to winterize my boat.. I have a 290 SLX EX - 2007.
Thanks

You can back feed power in through the 12v accessory plug.

I used a long extension cord, and a 15 amp male, to 30 amp female connector into my shore power, then turned on the battery charger. Of course, anothe option is to open the deck plates, remove the pins, then lift the deck up manually (but it is super heavy).

simply wire in remote power to the pump/motor wiring and route to a convenient cabinet with 2 bolts thru a plastic plate

How can he do this with no shore power?
And the plug that was shown, doesn't the 2 leads go to the battery? He can't access the batteries?
I must be missing something?

I assumed he doesn’t have access to 120v. Since he can’t just use his battery to move the hatch, then either he removed them or he raises the hatch and disconnects them and needs a way to put it down. My solution does need one of his batteries to be up top, but based on him not being able to just use the hatch normally, a battery is available and at worst needs lifted out of the bilge and left in the cockpit for the winter.

Midexp my way you have to have a power source that you can plug an extension cord into. I always run the extension cord to the office/ bathroom building here at Beacon Cove.
