The start of the Fall boating season

i am fantasizing about all the work I could get done during the winter in such a place... my boat would look like it just rolled out of the factory .. and I could take my time !!
Don't kid yourself.... I thought the same thing... What happens is you get there...plug in ..get the stereo going...talk to a few neighbors... Crack a beer.., then it turns into exactly what it's like at your slip in the summer... Don't get me wrong stuff gets done but it takes 10x longer than it should :)

BlueOne, I completely agree. I have always done my own polish and wax but I seem to not get too much done. I really enjoy running into my boating friends at the storage facility during the winter and that keeps me from being productive. Last year was the first year I hired it out and I plan on doing it again this year.

Brent ...looks like we store at the same place.. Last year was the first year I hired out the compound and wax as well. We moved the boat to lake Erie this summer so we wont be back up there this year.

That might be you right beside me in the pic?

Looks like it. We went down to the Erie Islands (for the first time) this year. We typically travel north up into Lake Huron (Lexington, Port Austin, East Tawas, ect....) but went south this year. We really like the Erie Islands and plan on doing another trip down there next season. Although, I want to add Cedar Point and Cleveland to the trip. I know you are in that area now and spend a lot of time at PIB. I'll reach out (next season) when we are going down there, maybe we can have a cold one (or 2, 3,4,5......)

Going into Cleveland, the best place to dock is right behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame called Rock and Dock.

Just got her tucked away today...

Fall boating is over for us. Big storms rolling in tonight. We caught a window before the nasty wether arrives. Was a great season.

I'll bet this harbor will look a bit different in 3 months.
Yep. We pulled into this harbor in July in fog that was so thick that we never did see the outermost walls and lights. Got to the inner channel by the CG station, the fog lifted and it was sunny and warm in the slip we had reserved.

Leaves haven’t changed yet, but still a beautiful scenic ride through New York Harbor and up the Hudson.
Other than the more recognizable images: Photos are of early AM wake on the ocean. Verrazzano Bridge, Freedom Tower and West Point.

We’re not done yet ..spent Saturday over at Belcarra Park (about 10 minutes from home marina). The leaves are really coming out now. Took the dinghy ashore for some hiking, then steaks on the boat for lunch and then a nap. Great fall day of boating.

It's been a little difficult to get any decent photos because of a lot of gray gloomy days. Been doing more moving in the rain than we would like.

The docks look empty. Picture taken from Park Place docks?
No we were on the cement dock across from the winery ..still crews nest. One boat beside us for the weekend and a couple on A dock next to Boardwalk. The bars and restaurants were still busy Saturday and Saturday night... A lot of people came by ferry.

The start of a nice day for fall boating in West Michigan. October 16, 2016. Still a few boats in the water across the way.
