Panama City Beach - Hurricane damage video

Franks boat is too big for inside storage but I'm sure the rest of the marina doesn't look much better. I hope everyone's safe, as well as the boat. Hopefully Frank and the others in that area will check in soon.

I saw that video on the news this morning. Is that Treasure Island Marina ?

His 450DA is too big for rack storage but not on the floor blocked on stands.

Prayers for everyone there, I have another friend that lives there, his wife and children left, he is a first responder, he spent the time in a 60 year old hospital which lost part of a third floor wall at one time do not know what else may have happened, he has posted that the people there are ok.

Thanks for the well-wishes guys, we appreciate it.

The marina shown in that clip is Pirate's Cove, which is next door to Treasure Island. Treasure Island does have significant damage, and several of the buildings on the property are probably not useable....the rigging shop, the mechanics shop, a storage barn for PWC and dinghys plus the forklifts, and a shed were destroyed (probably) but they were constructed in the 1970's and were in bad condition due to corrosion.....and needed replacement anyway.

The 2 big drystack barns were built much later, the largest was built after Hurricane Andrew so it was built to post-Andrew coastal building codes to withstand a 150 mph wind load. Our boat is blocked up in the center of that barn on a concrete floor. I've seeen photos that show that barn is in tact and standing, so we aren't expecting any damage. Getting the boat out of that barn and back in the water is going to take a while and we had one of the few covered slips which is now located somewhere in south Georgia.

We left town before the evacuation order was issued on Monday and have been watching the storm coverage on the TV news in my office in Tennessee.

Happy to hear Frank. Seems the news concerning your boat really couldn't be any better than that considering a near cat 5 hurricane just blew through. Hope your home there faired well too. Thanks for the update.

Frank, Jackie and I prayed for you guys the last three nights. So very glad to hear the boat is ok! I hope all your property is well. I am sure others are less fortunate. We will continue to pray for a quick and steady recovery. GOD bless you guys. JC

Frank

I hope your place and Richard's place didn't get heavily damaged. Good to hear the boat is probably OK.

Dave

Wow to video!
Great to hear you and yours are safe.
Was thinking the same thing Dave.

Ive been watching the news lately and like all hurricanes I always wonder about friends from CSR and their boats during these rough times. With Michael coverage on I was drinking coffee recently and said out loud, "oh man I hope Frank W's boat is ok". My wife was a bit confused :)

Good to hear Frank, hope you and everyone else down there can get by with minimal problems. Hang in there

Good to hear that your boat likely survived unscathed. Hopefully the marina gets back up and running quickly. Aside from the boaters wanting to get back to normal, I’m sure the employees will want to get back to work.
