I have a 87 340 Sundancer. The entire bow is a nonskid surface. I’ve read conflicting info on whether or not to wax it. Any info or experiences appreciated.

Wax it. Wax the heck out of it. I avoided waxing my bow non-skid my first year owning a cruiser and regretted it the entire season. It will look like poop in no time if you wax everything but the non-skid.

Hello. I have the diamond cut pattern non skid. I wax mine with a rotary drill and semi stiff brush attachment. Key is getting the wax down in the valleys not sitting on top of diamond peaks. Search and watch Shurhold videos on YouTube. It might be a little slippery the first couple of weeks but much easier to keep clean in the long run

When I owned Sea Rays I waxed the non-skid because it was very nonagressive and therefore easy to do. I did it for appearance. Get a good deck shoe and always wear them when walking around on deck. The Tiara's non skid is too aggressive to wax with a buffer. Still, I use Woody Wax on it not for appearance, but to make it easy to clean.

What about compound? Im getting ready to compound the flat surfaces, fine prep, then wax with 3M products. Do I avoid the diamond cut?

I kept the gel coat in good condition so used just a fine compound/polish before waxing. Always achieved a high gloss. If your nonskid is oxidized, use the compounds and polishes needed to restore its gloss prior to waxing.

Wax it! And when someone tries to tell you that waxing it makes it slippery, just smile and walk away. The diamond pattern is what makes non-skid, non-skid.
