Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum, and my family and I are planning to head to Bimini this Friday, Sep. 21st from Miami FL. This would be our first trip, so we would appreciate any tips or guidance that you guys could offer. Also if someone here is planning on making the same trip on Friday, maybe we can coordinate to cross together. We currently own a Sundancer 410.

Dairon, Do you have an itinerary? How long are you going for? I would assume you are staying at Resorts World or Big Game?
 
we are trying to go on Friday early in the morning and coming back on Sunday. We are planning to stay in the villa through rent by owner. Our boat is a sundancer 2013 with low hours but is kind of scary to be in the middle with no one close by lol
 
Our plan is to get to Bimini, go to the Sapona Shipwreck and honeymoon harbor in gun cay. And just around there in bimini
 
Me thinks it will be a bit "sporty" heading over Friday - is the villa at resorts world or in port royale? Take plenty of pics and let us know how it goes.
 
Ok, so I was going to suggest the Sapona and Honeymoon harbor. Just an FYI, Honeymoon harbor is not as shown on the charts and at high tide, the water breaches over the inside land. At least it did when I was there. Still a great spot. Bring some bait food for feeding the sting rays on the beach.
Cat Island is worth a stop if you have time. I hear it is now $5/ft.. so a little pricey but it's a nice marina with a Tiki bar on the dock and a restaurant as well.
On north Bimini, if you like local spots, Stuart's Conch Salad Stand is worth a stop. If you are staying at Resorts World, stay in the North docking so you are close to the pool and casino. Rent a golf cart.
