Good morning,
Can anyone suggest a captain that would take a boat from Florida to CT? Looking for responsible and affordable.
Thanks in advance.

420 sedan Bridge New Orleans to New Jersey. If there is a captain in the New Orleans area....let me know.

I can vouch for Capt. Danny Blankenship out of Bradenton/Palmetto, Florida. (941) 720-7054

Have not used him for delivery, but many do. We used him for training on our new boat.

I wouldn’t even consider moving it by water until the effects of Florence become known. Right now there is no assurance of fuel availability and parts of the AICW have been closed by the USCG.

Additionally this is a long and expensive trip by water if you are hiring an experienced captain plus you have the added exposure of mechanical breakdowns.

We moved our neighbors boat (380) from the Chesapeake to Destiny, FL by water. It was and enlightening trip. Had a blast. Had it bought back a year later by land. The by land route was much less stressful and less cost. Cannot remember who he used.

With all of the flooding in the Carolinas, I’d be concerned about floating debris on a trip like that for the next few months.

Sea Gulll, thank you I have contacted them. JVM, I agree but I suppose running on the outside is an option in that area.

Wow. I could just imagine the fuel cost. I'd say land would be much cheaper.

Capt. Scott G Ryals, (561) 427-8626, not anyone anywhere better. Has delivered over 3,000 (yes!) boats all over the world. Best price, smartest guy, has vast Sea Ray experience and takes care of your boat like it was his. I can't say enough about him. He knows his stuff cold. He delivered ours from Stuart, FL. to Orange Beach, AL. (+600 nm) through the Okeechobee locks on time and on budget. He runs up and down the east coast frequently, saves $ when he can is a nice guy.

I've done the run from the north side of Lake Pontchartrain all the way up to Jacksonville. It's an easy trip.

Are you just short on time or do you need a hand with the boat?

If you have never done it, I would take advantage of the fact that the boat will be in south Florida and take a detour over to the Bahamas for a few days

Time off from work is the factor. Would also like to do the run with someone who is familiar with the ICW, etc
