In my quest for a 30+ footer, I find myself looking at the SunSports. I really like their lines and love the idea of having a go fast boat with the amenities of a liveaboard (air/heat/head, etc). I'm curious to their performance with T454's. Anyone out there with one that could comment or anybody ever been aboard one of these babies out on the water?

Can you get more specific on the model?

From what I see in the SeaRay archive, there are 32' Pachanga's in the early 1990's, and in the late 1990's you have the 280 and 290 sunsports. I can comment on the 280/290 sunsports, but I suspect you are actually interested in the earlier boats.

The 310SS is probably the best looking Sea Ray ever produced. They are quick but troublesome to work on since 2 7.4's in one hole is tight. The other issue for me, but I"m in salt water, is the outdrives.

If I could find a nice one, I'd buy it today and leave it in Tennessee to enjoy Tim's, Normandy or Center Hill.

Agreed, I think they are a great design for a day boat. I know there are several on our lake. Start looking in the upper Midwest. I bet you can find a fresh water one for a pretty good deal.

That's the exact model of boat I've been looking at...1993 SS. LOVE the lines and the cool wrap-around aft seating. Cabin is a little snug. T454's must really get up and go!

I see the boat wasn't offered with Bravo III drives in that time frame, so you don't have to worry about those particular corrossion issues.

From the floor plan, it seems you don't get much cockpit or cabin space for a boat of this size. .. but then again cockpit and cabin space is not what this boat is about, is it? I am willing to bet this thing will fly.

With rare exception, Sea Ray doesn't build bad looking boats. This one is cool on a trailer, but it looks completely different in the water..........like its going 75 mph when its idling. By Sea Ray standards (sturdy, safe, family oriented boats) the 310SS is quick, but it won't keep up with a similar powered/sized go-fast.

Hi - I have owned one for 4 years now and I'm really happy with the performance and maneuvering.

Reviving this thread to ask Frank if the hull is Balsa cored on the 310 Super Sports. I expect the deck is but am curious if it's below the waterline or the hull sides.
