I’m gong to replace the original canvas and isinglass between my windshield and hard top over the winter on my 2004 390 DA. Any suggestions or comments regarding. Strataglass vs isinglass or any other advice is appreciated. TIA

Couple things I changed when I redid mine a few years ago... The aft cockpit cover is all sunbrella - no glass there of any kind. I've been advocating this to other boaters for years and everyone that has made the change really likes it. Easier to store, last longer, easier to clean, cheaper to purchase and more privacy. No one really runs their boat with the back panel on anyway - the canvas always comes off when most people are taking their boat out.

I created a separate section that lines up with the width of the aft door and rolls up secured with straps so that you can have easy access into the boat with the cover on.

Regarding the front glass sections, I went with Makrolon. I have a post on this and some of the advantages and disadvantages. I personally would never use isinglass. Strataglass - perhaps depending on how many times I would be taking it off. EZ2CY also very good but more $$.

I also have a matching sunbrella cover for the glass section forward made out of sunbrella that snaps on top of the glass (Outside) to keep the sun out and minimize UV damage to the interior (front of our boat faces west). Also helps minimizes etching if you're in a salt water area.

I think a lot of what you get depends where you live. I had Strataglass , overtime it got little cracks in and was hard to see out. Also, it was very hot in the cockpit since you can’t roll it up. Went with the best grade and thickest Isinglass when I had everything replaced last year. Much nicer to be able to roll up windows on hot Florida days. Had outside cover made to protect Isinglass, with see thru mesh on bottom half so I can still see outside. I also like the full aft canva with a door, so I can roll it up and store it easily under a seat when under way.

Strataglass isn’t a solid panel. It’s a rollable vinyl product that claims to have a special coating to resist fine scratches and UV damage.

At a glance, there aren’t any obvious differences between an off-brand sheet of non-coated vinyl and Strata of the same thickness.

Agree with other comments to get rid of the glass out of the rear curtains so they can be rolled up. Also agree with getting screens for the front glass. Mine are all mesh and make a big difference to cockpit temps.

Also get rid of the useless slant back Searay design and extend further back. I also recommend using Stamoid on the top for better waterproofing and easier cleaning.

My strataglass wasn’t solid, but sure would not roll up as good as Isinglass.

That looks really nice!

I’ve got EZ2CY and love it. The previous owner of my boat had it installed in about 2015 and it seems to be holding up really well.

I did this on my 320. Got Strata and canvas panels. Much easier to take down just canvas panels. Have glass if needed. I also got this product to roll my strata in. works well and reasonably priced. https://clearstow.com/
