we are supposed to get 3-5" of rain tonight and tomorrow. They are predicting our river will be 8' higher than normal. Marina sent out a FB message to get your boat out if you can. Went down and there were about 4 or 5 boats ahead of us but everyone was helping each other out so only took us about 30 minutes. I heard about 25-30 boats were pulled from our marina today. My mother has their pontoon a few marinas away and they, along with many others there, pulled theirs today too.

My grandmother would say “A ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Yes, I understand its a Benjamin Franklin quote, but I never met Benjamin Franklin.

Sounds like you are being wise boatman. Good job.

We’re expecting a storm that might bring 4 inches of rain Monday. Not pulling though.

About a month ago we got 9” in 5 hours and the water levels here rose 5 feet. It was pretty wild for a few hours.

5' that isn't nothing, normal pool here is 9-10' and calling it to peak monday night at 33.5', its at 24' at 8 pm right now so should be interesting when I get up in morning, good thing is not much debris yet and what is coming down is going around my docks. My poles are 45' above normal water levels and docks are in good shape so all should be good if not find out how good insurance is!

I am in Pittsburgh as well. Greenecove Yacht Club on the Mon. We are expecting the river to rise 15-21 feet. It is up 11' since this morning.
I am off the river in a cove, so leaving it in to rise and fall with the level.

Went to the marina twice today to help out. 2nd trip there was a bunch of debris getting caught up in the docks so we worked several hours to get that cleared. Water levels weren't that bad when we left at about 7:00. Looked like it was up 2 or 3' maybe. Current was picking up the last hour or so though and a few more guys pulled their boats today

Looks similar to the one I looked at for Montgomery Dam, which is the closest to us. Surprisingly our river isn't up that much right now but we will stop down tomorrow after work and see how it looks

I was up green cove last Sat, spent night there then went up to point marion and threw out anchor and spent night up there, I'm between lock 3 & 4 on mon calling for 34', its already around 21' here, high water doesn't bother me as much as debris building up on catwalk

If you were at the bar listening to the band, we probably crossed paths...

I was sitting in boat listening, was docked across from bar

I think you were 1 slip away from me. I believe we said hello.

how high did get up there, is it in the bar yet or close?

The river stage forecast has changed, for the better. It originally would have been right at the restaurant floor, but now it looks to be several feet lower for the peak.

they changed it here and said it peaked but checked my docks a little while ago and its still coming up, came up 6" in 1/2hour I was there and its been raining hard for last couple of hours so I think they might be off a little. hopefully your not getting what we're getting in rain
