Hi all. I have a 2004 320 SR DA that the hinges on the toilet seat snapped. After hours of searching to find the actual site for Dometic Sealand I gave up relinquishing my efforts to purchasing a standard set of hinges from West Marine. Luckily all screw holes and hinge lengths match. My problem is how do you get to the underside at the back of the bowl to fasten the thumb screw onto the plastic verticle bolt that holds the hinge in place. There is probably 3 inches between the wall and the back of the toilet where it is open to reach in there, (this is only accomplished if you have 2” thick arms and 7” fingers). If anyone has any ideas on this, I would most appreciate them.

I just went thru this and had to pop the toilet off. Just loosen the hose clamp and it comes right off... put hose clamp back in same position.

I also just went through this. I could get my arm between the toilet and wall far enough to reach the hinge nuts. Also bought hinge set on amazon for about 9 dollars.

Thanks guys!
Yes, I did exactly like you and after configuring myself like a pretzel on the floor in the head, I was able to reach around up behind the bowl portion, while my wife worked the screwdriver on top. Good thing nobody took a picture of the two of us in that position in the head! All fixed, happy wife..................happy life..!

Can you please provide a link for what you ordered. I have the same issue with my Sealand toilet seat and haven't been able to find a match. Thanks

Had this same situation. I was able to reach behind the right side (opposite the foot pedal) to reach both of the holes where the plastic pin comes through. I used a crescent wrench to hold the nut and this allowed me to reach around the right side and still reach the hole on the left. It took a few minutes and didn’t feel great in the body but it wasn’t too bad.

Haha....Same here. I did 1/2 of mine this spring. Took me almost an hour of pain to get 1 on. The other one I used the guy who was fixing something else on the boat to get the one on the starboard side in. He was a skinny monkey.

I replaced my seat two years ago. The bottom nuts that I got with it had little wings on them. I was able to put them between the very ends of my fingertips to hold them. I managed to put my hand behind the back corners of the seat with the nuts between my fingers long enough to get them started them on the bolts, which I had tilted so the bottom leaned towards where my hand was. From there, I just pulled up on the bolts as I tightened them. When they bottomed out, I was able to snug the bolts pretty tight. I had to re-tighten them this year. Fortunately, I was able to do it without holding the nuts as I tightened the bolts.
