I just bought a 240 sd. It has the optional seating package in it. The cushion right behind the port chair blew out while driving on the highway (before I purchased the boat). I was looking at how to lock it in place but cant seem to find out how this is done . Does anyone have a 2003 240sd that can send me a picture of how theirs is installed, or can someone just tell me how it is supposed to be installed. I don't want to get the cushion repaired until this problem is fixed. Thank you

the cushion in question is the one on the left directly behind the port captains chair

2007 240 here.

The cushion just sit there. No locks to hold it down. Mine was replaced by the previous owner during his time with it, as it blew off while cruising one day. (It's the best looking cushion on the boat!)

There are 2 plastic bars screwed to the underside of the cushion that keep it from sliding out, but apparently don't do much to hold it down.

I'm planning on adding a teacher to mine this year.

Exact same thing happened to me on a 2004 240SD. I ended up trailering with the Tonneau cover on.

The engine hatch will pop up as well. I saw some people put a latch on it... but tonneau cover will stop that as well.

If you look at boats 2010 and newer same model they have hinges. You might be able to adapt them for all the cushions if you do it. I would do them all because any of them can fly out.

How about using 2" strips of heavy duty velcro? The "L" bench on my 260DA had that under the seat to keep it in place.

Here is what to do: You need to travel with the passenger seat spun around facing the rear. Adjust it so that you have to press the bolster down. The pressure on the cushion prevents it from moving. I do it all of the time and it doesn't move anymore

Ok--so I lost this exact same cushion--I always keep it covered, but since I was traveling a short distance to the boat ramp, I neglected to tarp it and paid the price. Has anyone had any luck finding an exact replacement? I have done extensive internet searching with no luck.

A good vinyl guy can match the vinyl and fabricate a new one... sun exposure to your current vinyl may have caused it to fade a bit... So it might not be perfect but it will be close

+1 on turning the passenger seat around. I have had that cushion come off going down the lake if there is a strong head wind. closing the stern door helps with airflow patterns as well.

For highway travel, I put it in the toilet area, along with any other loose items.

Luckily I just located the fold out bow cushion that I can take to my upholstery lady--but that is only the off white color. My color scheme seems to be the exact same as CJ2law's pictured above--any idea what color the bronze is, and the piping? The company that I located has the exact materials, but a lot of color options/variations. Is there any way I can figure out from the Hull ID#??

Thanks to everyone that responded on here. I have followed the advice of putting the cushions into the bathroom when traveling further than to the marina. It is a pain but effective and fortunately it is something you only forget to do once (luckily, Seen it fly out and it landed in the grass with no damage other than a few scuffs on the piping.) it has been an interesting year with this "new to me" boat.

The hull # only indicates the year of build, the location of the build, and the style and manufacturer of the hull. If you go onto the club Searay owners services page they have a manual for these boats and In one of them it has the different interior packages, I don't know if they list the colors or not but that is where I would start.

Same boat, same year, same everything you guys have been saying. The tonneau cover trick finally took care of issues with losing that cushion as well as the engine hatch opening from time to time. I thought perhaps closing the windscreen along with latching open that mid cabin door would work, but the latch wouldn't hold it and the wind would shut the door, thus allowing the wind to come through.
