420 DA Thread

Does anyone have any idea how much it cost to replace the Electric Vent window on a 2003 420 Dancer?
 
Do a search on this sight. I remember a while back someone replaced his with a different model actuator same stroke length.. It was pretty cheap and easy if I remember

Hi @villain style - it does pull down the same way as the others. I went back to the boat today and the new LED's insert and light up just find in the shower fixtures:

1) Screen Shot 2018-08-19 at 5.55.19 PM.png - Shot of the light pulled out of the shower ceiling. It occurred to me after that I probably didn't need to remove this fixture - that for this one the cover would twist off without removing the whole fixture. However - in the end it did make it easier to insert the new LED pins at the weird side angle.
2) Screen Shot 2018-08-19 at 5.57.19 PM.png - Tested that the LED illuminated before putting it back.
3) Screen Shot 2018-08-19 at 5.58.13 PM.png - Fixture back in ceiling with cover and new LED.

I also went ahead and replaced the four reading lights in the master and guest stateroom - the same LED worked there:

1) Screen Shot 2018-08-19 at 6.00.08 PM.png - new LED inserted in reading light without cover.
2) Screen Shot 2018-08-19 at 6.00.51 PM.png - testing new LED before screwing back on reading light cover.
3) Screen Shot 2018-08-19 at 6.01.36 PM.png - reading light LED with cover reattached.

Fellow 420/440 owners - next up for me is to replace the two master closet lights with LEDs. I took the cover off and it looks like a different style bulb. Can anybody recommend an LED replacement (or perhaps know the name of this type of bulb base):

They have a pretty good selection on these at most auto parts stores. I'd just take it in and match it up.
 
Hey @importmonkey - thanks for the reply. I’d rather avoid the horrible LA traffic and just order it online / Amazon for home delivery so I can grab it from home and bring to the marina on my next visit to the boat. If you know the bulb size / model it would save me a trip.

$585.48 factory plus $105 in labor. I think I got sucked into a rabbit hole.

Your going to have to go thru Sea Ray to get to Taylor .. you might be able to go to a glass fabricator... it might not match perfectly but it's small and not really obvious

Thank you. I think your right. Taylor Made want to sell the whole section of window (upper and vent as one piece)
