It’s a circuit sensing water pressure in the engine block. The sensor can be a little silly so I have heard. Unless you are having other issues such as overheating or low water flow, probably just a sensor.

Replace the water pressure sensor. Easy job, costs about $155 for one at MM.

I keep a spare on the boat. Both went out within 3 months of each other.
