Lake Saint Clair Peeps

We were at Munchies a few weeks ago and it was packed. Some of our friends had to anchored away from our raft and they were by the canal near the reeds. We were 50yds away. Our friends had leaches everywhere when they jumped in near them. We had none where we were. I just think it's the location in each particular bay. I believe every bay has something, swimmers itch, leaches, piss, trash... Can't avoid it, it's the lake. Like Clark Griswald says, "it's all part of the experience"

Speaking of piss and trash... We're having our annual adult boating day Saturday at the moot. Usually it's a day of non-boaters thinking it's a sprint not a marathon for drinking. It's usually the only time I head to the moot cause we have our daughters. If you wanna join, feel free! It's always a good time, haha. We'll have 4-5 boats rafted and we won't be in the line.
Great Lakes, we would come on down to hang but we are participating in a small boat / dinghy poker run & pirate costume contest this Saturday. We did head down to the Moot for Raft Off last Saturday, but we only took the dink. I wanted to have some fun and I limit my fun when driving the boat.

Peeps.... We have been spending so much time in PIB we have decided to move the boat to Port Clinton for the rest of the season in a trial Marina and winter store there..... that in turn should save a ton of diesel and 2-1/2 hours of navigating each way ...

I began a similar "trial" on Mem Day Wkd 2004. So far, so good. :D

When you say Pt Clinton, do you mean in town, or in the general Catawba Island / Marblehead area?

I'll look for ya if we head that way. We invited our neighbors out for Saturday but don't know yet if their coming. A buddy just bought a new to him 342 Rinker:mad::confused: and he wants me to go out with him to see if I have any pointers for him. He already screwed up the main one I gave him "SeaRay"...:D...

I'm sure I'll see you there then. We will definitely be going there again, probably this weekend. Look for the big "Bottoms Up" flag. I'll keep an eye out for that 380.

We're going to William G Milliken to see a concert at Chene Park this weekend, but I'll look for you there in the future.

Just got a text from my buddy "Rock On" and he said he will have no kids and is heading to Little Moot Saturday so chances are I'll be there also. We usually anchor to the left of the line.

Well I just thought I would let everyone know in case you're interested. On October 13th there is some kind of floating lighted candle thingy going on at Metro. I haven't googled it yet but the dock neighbors were talking about it. Anyway 5 boats including myself booked slips for that night. We are staying in the front bay (#29 through #33 I believe) if anyone would like to join us. Hope to see some of you there.

Was anyone else out on the lake Saturday during the storm? Here's a few pics from Fisher Bay as it came through. We look at it on the weather apps and decided it would be quick so we'll just ride it out. As it started getting closer we were wondering if we made the right decision, but it really wasn't as bad as it looked.

Joe I have one pano pic. It’s pretty awesome but it’s too large to upload. We were at the Baltimore Cut when it rolled in. When the wind picked up at the start we questioning our decision and the stern anchor lines. They were like guitar strings.

Overall it was a awesome weekend and that storm just added to the party.

Here's a blog from a young family from Lake St Clair that's out there doing the Loop. I know their boat isn't a Sea Ray, but they are Lake St Clair Peeps. Great reading.
Thanks for posting. I will be reading this as that is my goal, to do the Great Loop. Although it will be a few more years away.

Hey guys hoping somebody can answer a question. I have a 96 330 dancer and the horn is starting to go, the thing always sounded crappy to me anyways but I'm wondering if I can install the newer SeaRay sounding loud maybe (buzzer sounding type) into my year? Not sure of the proper term for this newer type horn.. but any help always appreciated!

From what I heard at the member services at MacRay the other day as it stands right now they only had one open slip left to rent..who know if everybody's returning next season

There’s usually a few that turn over. I’m pretty certain the well right next to me will be open. It’s a 40’er and it’s back on amber where there’s a lot of space behind you so you can hang over. Current members get first dibs on open wells. I think they have until second week of January to decide then it opens to public
