Lake Saint Clair Peeps

We are going to be there for the Earth Wind and Fire concert at Chene Park weekend after next. Looks nice from the one picture.

I just got a reservation for 9/22.... Only 2 spots left. Now I have to figure out what to do.

Chene Park is right next door. It is a pretty nice marina. Floating docks, clean bathrooms, gated. I've been to nicer marinas but have no complaints with Milliken.

A very funny story. Yesterday we were at Naked Bay, NOT the raft off, and decided to head back to Bell Maer when the storms started up. When we got to Belle Mare the weather had improved to the point that we decided to drop the hook at poor man's beach. We observed a woman fall off a jet ski, and she was having problems. So I called the Macomb County Sheriff and told them what had happened. "There is a woman who has fallen and she can't get up!" We all had a laugh, but the woman was out on the lake, and clearly had no idea what to do. If you let a friend use your watercraft, at least make sure they know how to use it and how to board.

Hello again Brent, it was nice meeting you this past weekend. Hope you had smooth waters on your way to your Erie destinations. Looking forward to meeting up again, hopefully Metro on Oct. 6th. You have a dang nice boat. I took a shot of you pulling out Sunday morning. View attachment 58622
Hey Joe,
Thanks for the pic, it was nice getting the chance to meet you in person. We had good weather heading down into Lake Erie, wind kicked up while we were at PIB at night, no real issues going to PIB or Kelley's Island.
We very well might be in for a Lk St Clair get together with everyone, but like I mentioned while down in Detroit, it is hard to commit due to my work schedule. But it sounds like fun, so if it happens, and we are in town, we would likely head over.

Good evening peeps, I had the day off yesterday and ventured to a new place. I know some of you have been there but if you haven't you shoud. Maybe it was so nice because it was Monday and we were the only boat in there, but the water was so clear and calm it was awesome, Barenaked Bay by the Baltimore Hwy. We started out going to Fisher but the darn little nosees (bugs) ran us out of there. I decided to go through the cut into the Sni and see if I could find my way to Barenaked (it was easy). I got the boat washed from the rub rail down and we probably spent 2 hours cruising through the cuts in the dinghy. We then cruised through MacRay and midexp was on his boat so we got to meet and say hi on the way by. We turned around in the back (Great Lakes yours was there safe and sound) and headed to Bumpers for dinner then back to Beacon Cove. Here are a few pictures to show how clear and calm the water was. It was probably a hair over 4 feet deep where I was anchored.

The last time I was in naked bay I might have gone to deep in but my feet were over taken by little leaches when I got out so I'm kinda skeptical about it but keep hearing great reviews this yr? Next time ur put in around MacRay stop by I'm right down from the store

We went all the way back in and didn't have any problems with them. Are you in the first canal past the store/gas dock?

Peeps.... We have been spending so much time in PIB we have decided to move the boat to Port Clinton for the rest of the season in a trial Marina and winter store there..... that in turn should save a ton of diesel and 2-1/2 hours of navigating each way ... We will use the rest of the boating season to check out the temp Marina and exploring other options while enjoying a 12 mile commute to the islands ..The cool thing about a boat is picking up and exploring new areas and we are sure looking forward to that.
We didn't get a lot of potential participation for the RENDEVOUS this year... But I am all up for a 2019 RENDEVOUS... If any of you guys find your way south ...reach out!

Sounds like a good move for you Blueone. Hope it works out and you enjoy it. I'm not a huge fan of Cedar Point but the wife loves it. Maybe over the winter (I hate saying that word) we can organize a Rendezvous 2019 to Cedar Point. Might give us more time and get more boaters together from Michigan and Ohio. We will still be at Metro a few weekends in October and I'll post the dates here when we decide to go there in case some can make it.

Funny Joe, I though your boat look familiar as soon as I saw you. Looks like you had a nice day. I live in walking distance from your marina, I'll have to swing by sometime and look at your davit set up.

Joe that's our go to spot. Even on a very busy day it's still a calm peaceful place.
I'm sure I'll see you there then. We will definitely be going there again, probably this weekend. Look for the big "Bottoms Up" flag. I'll keep an eye out for that 380.

Anytime... Dock #M-5... It still isn't quite finished. The ramps are just painted wood that I plan on changing to starboard once I know I don't want to change anything. I think there will be an electric winch in the trunk when I am completely done but that's a whole other project...

BlueOne. We spent last week down in PIB and Kelley's Island. What a fun area and l love the concept of Island Hopping. We will be back down in that area next year again, adding Cedar Point to the trip. Might even do one night a Middle Bass Island to check out the Winery there.
At PIB, we stayed at Miller Marina. I saw The Keys and thought it was nice but upon some investigation, I found out that they can't take my size boat for "new" members.
Did you join PIB YC or are you docking someplace else?

We were at Munchies a few weeks ago and it was packed. Some of our friends had to anchored away from our raft and they were by the canal near the reeds. We were 50yds away. Our friends had leaches everywhere when they jumped in near them. We had none where we were. I just think it's the location in each particular bay. I believe every bay has something, swimmers itch, leaches, piss, trash... Can't avoid it, it's the lake. Like Clark Griswald says, "it's all part of the experience"

Speaking of piss and trash... We're having our annual adult boating day Saturday at the moot. Usually it's a day of non-boaters thinking it's a sprint not a marathon for drinking. It's usually the only time I head to the moot cause we have our daughters. If you wanna join, feel free! It's always a good time, haha. We'll have 4-5 boats rafted and we won't be in the line.
