First morning and the forecast has changed dramatically for the better.

Either way, we’re here until Monday.

Nice! How’s the water temps down there? The big lake turned over and was cold for a week but has crept back up

Thats awesome man. Are you staying in the same spot on the hook or are you going to move around the lake and drop at different spots each night?

Same spot. Exact same spot as in previous years to the degree.

My wife and I got married right here 3 years ago and celebrate our anniversary this way and probably always will.

The water is a magnificent 75 degrees and clear but a bit Amber in color. About 5 feet deep at the platform 200 yards from shore.

Any Blue-Green algae blooms on Seneca? I was on Skaneateles for the first half of the week and the North End had huge sections that were solid yellow. It was even worse than it looked on the CNY news.

Not that I’ve heard of, but lots of beaches on Kueka in the Penn Yan area are closed.

Ooooh, boy.

2nd morning, 1st hangover.

My wife makes a very benign looking Cosmopolitan that could probably take down a rhino.

I’ll happily share the recipe, but beware.

Sounds like you're doing it right! Happy Anniversary.

Thanks folks.

Have a steady blow out of the north with 3 footers rolling under us. Beautiful day though.

I really love my mooring snubbers.

I wasn’t doubting you......
Hope it settles down and you enjoy the trip.

No problem Man.

It lasted about 12 hours and got tiresome, but flattened out for the evening.

I’m watching a tow and rescue crew refloat a 30 odd foot express that sat right down on the bottom over night.

We’ve gotten very lucky with the wind and weather with that one exception.

30’ Wellcraft Martinique.

T&R crew here pumping her out now, but I’m sure they woke up to wet feet.

That looks so depressing...makes me sick to think about it. UGH!

what happened that made them take on water?

Yikes! Was there a stern anchor involved in that situation?

Simply put, a drunk moron cleaned out his A/C strainer, didn’t put the top back on and reopened the sea clock.

He then somehow climbed up out of the engine compartment without realizing this, passed out and the boat sunk within hours after the batteries quit.

If he wasn’t in 4 feet of water he and his wife would probably be dead.

When asked what his plan was for the insurance adjuster was he said he was going to cut a bellows.

My guess is that he’s going to get nothing and that’s exactly what he deserves.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of boaters local to me are just like him.

My insurance premium just went up 20% and I was told that it was due to a high rise in claims in my area.
