Anyone willing to loan or rent a Techmate Pro w/94006 adapter?

Only needed for 1 week. I just need to program my port engine from starboard to port, and read the hours/RPM history.

Guy on Ebay was renting them for $75 but seems he quit doing that back in June.

I needed one of these around Memorial Day. No luck here or on eBay, either. Had to get a tech out.

Saw on e bay for rent 2 weeks ago. You can also buy this for a Hindi on e bay

I went ahead and purchased the unit. The shop that fixed my boat is clueless about such things so I wouldn’t even trust them to program the engine during a service call.
I figure maybe I can rent it out like the guy on eBay was doing or just sell it when I’m done with it.

Uhg. My bad. There was a guy on e bay renting one like this. Was $75 for 7 days
Yes, I contacted him. He is no longer renting it because the person who rented it last did not return it. I bought the unit myself, so maybe I will rent it out in a similar fashion.

Thats great news. Looked for weeks to borrow/rent one in my area from a marina. You would think i asked for their first born. They all wanted $150 -$250 just to scan it

You’d have to rent it out with a $600 deposit that would be refunded when you got the unit back in good condition. If not returned, you’d keep the deposit. Hope that guy did that.

Yez he did. He charged $75 a week with a $650 deposit returned to you when scan was sent back. Soooo worth the rental price

Well, FML. Coming across the Chesapeake Bay tonight - right in the middle of the damn Bay - my engine starts beeping. Two beeps every minute. No temp or oil pressure problems. No other symptoms. Except when I went to tie up, the SB engine died at idle. I could get it starts again, with throttle, but it would keep beeping and stalling at idle. Sounds like the IAC. But a scan tool would be real helpful to confirm, right about now! Lol.

I have twin 305 efi mercs in a 98 290 sundancer that i got early this year. Had a buddy tune both up and ran great on land but under a load would not get up past 2800 rpms. Spent 3 weeks working on it changing parts and nothing. Got a merc guy to look at it and found out it plug wires were out of order and base timing was off. Scanner would have picked this up and could have saved me about $1500 in parts, 3 weeks of aggravation and about a quart of blood. Well worth getting one

Maybe your "buddy" could help with the parts bill.
