I want to replace the gold trim in the cabin. It looks plastic and flexible to me. What is it even called?

Thanks,

MM

I replaced the gold on my 410DA with aluminum tile edging from Home Depot. I believe it was one of the Schluter products, and I had to order it online. I went with one of brushed stainless looks if I remember, and then made a cut on the back of the spine on my bandsaw to make it more flexible. It went above my cabinets between the black combing and the cabinets, and below the countertop.

I replaced the t moulding that runs along the upholstery. It is just flexible plastic t moulding. I ordered it from Flounder Pounder. Cuts easy with a razor blade. Took about 10 min to change all of them out. I went with the brushed nickle. Also did the nobs and rings on drawers. I just cant figure out how to get rid of the gold trim on the tambour doors.

Interesting option.

Does the T-mounding pull out easy?

MM
Yep. Pulls out very easy. It just fits in a groove with about an inch of upholstery overlap on the ends that you tuck the t molding into.

So my trim is 1/4 inch and held in place by adhesive tape. Any further options?

Any tips for google searching for this, what terms would you suggest.

3M makes automotive trim tape meant to secure exterior plastic pieces. Super thin, double sided sticky.

Check out a place called Outwater Plastics. They have all kinds of plastic and metal trims including a bunch of different size T-moldings.
