Fusion Radio Install in 410 Sundancer front cabin?

I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate having a small MFD in the "instrument row" on my 400DA dash. As you 400 guys know, the main plotter screen is not just far to port, but also vertical. I have a Garmin 741 almost directly ahead of the wheel. It makes a huge difference while standing at the helm because of both the improved angle and the position.

This morning I just bought another 7" MFD. As I've mentioned before, having media displayed on an MFD renders the remote as just a really expensive volume knob. Refurbed/Closeout MFD's don't cost much more than the Fusion remote!

Set up a new network name and password, and the 755 is hardwired on the network. Connected my phone wirelessly, and the distance limitation is gone. Easy. Now I just need to figure where I can hide the router while still having access to an ac outlet...

Are you saying the 755 supports media over WiFi, or just control? The 750 doesn't support WiFi media, which is my biggest frustration with that unit.

Would you mind sharing from where you're getting refurbed MFD's for a few hundred jr bacon cheese burgers? Thanks!

lol Sure. I don't mind throwing this "Jim" guy under the bus for starting my addiction in the first place. Just a few innocent years ago, I was satisfied with a single aging plotter... Then BOE advertised close-out 8212's and got me hooked. That wasn't enough, so they hooked me on a close-out/refurb 741xs. I should've bought two of each btw., but at later 8012's went to close-out and I was able to drag a friend into the misery.

The 742 is a used demo. It's coming from a seller on THT.

If auto-pilots go on close-out, I'm dead man.

I'd love to see a pic of your dash/plotter area! Been measuring the plotter "pod" on the 2001, not a lot of space for anything bigger than 9", and not in the line of sight. I think I can get a couple 7" were the VHF/ST60 and RN300 are, a couple 9" would be even better!

For a free forum this place sure costs me a whole bunch of money.....:)

Installed the Apollo 770 last night...bad buzzing sound, may have a bad unit. I assume that would work with the apollo, but the NRX300 is only $50 more.

I hate to hide a very attractive head unit down in the panel. Would love a color version, but then again, just get a MFD.

I need to do some more cutting and I should get new panels, but I'll post a pic once I get it installed.

Been laying out different options on sketchup...the panels are not cheap so when I go to do it, I want to make sure I love it first.

Always looking for good ideas

yeah - that's one of my reasons for procrastinating the purchase of new panels. I hate to cut a hole for a circa '96 auto-pilot, but it still works and is expensive to replace...
