Official 370 Express Cruiser Thread (1997-2000)

I have the little sister of your boat but for this post I would say everything’s pretty much identical yes our boats steam a lot but that also depends on water temperature air temperature humidity levels I think it’s just the design in our exhaust system water lift mufflers and a long exhaust run make everything conducive for a lot of steam I just re-powered my boat and I can report back that I still have the same steam issue so it’s a design issue that’s just the way it is
The droning sound is the same on my boat again just the way the boat was designed it is quite loud there are aftermarket products like in line silencers resonator kits I have not personally tried them but I do hear that it quiets the sound about a bit
And lastly it absolutely sounds like the IAC valve is an issue hundred bucks two screws five minutes your time probably worth just swapping it out with the other motor to confirm. enjoy your Boat she’s a beauty!

Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate it!

Well... as all spring project lists go, mine is shrinking but I have one that has stumped me and hoping this great group can help. The shower sump pump is not functioning... check the breaker, fuse, float switch, and pump... all are in operating condition. I then tested the voltage in the line and it's near 3-4 volts... far too few to get the pump moving.

I suspect the issue is a bad ground connection... but have no idea where to find the ground connection for the shower sump system. Any ideas where I can find this connection?

Thanks very much in advance!

Totally agree with this as it's exactly the experience I have as well... in fact was equally concerned about the steam in my first year :)

Hi there, Anyone else on this thread have the 454 horizons in there 370EC? I've owned the boat just under a year now and I have a couple of Questions.
#1. Cruising on Lake Michigan (49 degree lake water) I have A LOT of steam behind the boat while underway (26 MPH, 3500 RPM). I've heard this is normal for this boat, but compared to other boats, mine has a lot more. As soon as I come into the harbor, no steam. Impellers are new and Risers are cool. Normal?
#2. This boat is LOUD while under power. More of a drowning sound. Just gets a little annoying after an hour long cruise. Anyone else have an issue with engine noise?
Any solutions for this?
#3. After a long run, I throttle down and come into the harbor. Its about a 5 minute idle from the harbor mouth to my slip. About every 3 trips, my port motor will stall when I pull it back to neutral to start to back into my slip. The RPMs will go up, then go down and it stumbles and cuts out. It fires right back up. Any ideas on that issue? I'm thinking it could be the IAC valve.

Please let me know.
Thanks
Thanks for everyone's reply's. I did change out the IAC valve and have not had any issues.

Also, If you have knocking in your transmission (which is normal) while at Idle, change out the Fluid to Mobil 424. It smoothed out the knocking and they both sound smooth now...

Question reguarding the bait prep station sink. The water is not draining out. Is this just a passive drain or is their a pump that pumps out the water? I tried plunging it to no avail.

Its just a Gravity Drain. You'll have to force out what ever is in there....

Not sure, why? What are you looking to do? I mounted my TV there. I cut a piece of 5/8" marine plywood and then covered it with the same Vinyl that is in the cabin. I mounted this new piece over the entire mirror and then mounted my TV to it.

Anyone doing any upgrades over the winter?

Hoping to do an inverter install, plus a solar panel or two on my hardtop.

I plan on re-upholstering my front seats, new Cutlass Bearings, Replacing the Windshield Trim on the outside.

I also plan on Re-upholstering the Settee and making a fold up bunk bed from the backrest like a tiara. I love this feature on 36 and 37 Tiara opens. Fold up the backrest and strap it to the ceiling and its a bunk bed. Still need to plan this out, but with 2 growing kids, I think I need to do this...

That is exactly why i was was asking. This is a GREAT idea!

May I ask where you sourced the same vinyl?

Thank you for sharing :)

Radar install and possibly autopilot... just can't decide if I'll get enough use out of it to justify the cost.

For those with Radar, any preference/guidance on the best angle for the Radar Mount? 3, 4, 5 or 6 degrees? I know she rides bow high... so thinking 4+... but would appreciate any experienced intel.

Thanks!

I went to the Kendor Upholstery shop in Franklin Wisconsin. I brought one of the starboard closet removable panels for them to match.

I just mounted mine on a 2" riser with ZERO degrees. I have the Raymarine Quantum and it works great.
I love my autopilot. I use it EVERY trip
