420 DA Thread

HELP please...just informed that the primary battery charger in my 2005 420DA is bad. The kicker is the mechanic cannot find it. "I've looked everywhere". Supposedly a seasoned XX&@%@ mechanic. Can someone kindly tell me where to find it? It is NOT in the bilge (Bow TR charger is).

If he cant find it how does he know its bad. could be just no 120 volt getting to it.
First thing find the charger
second thing find a new mechanic

Mitch thanks. I just downloaded the manual so I don't ask these Q's again. I really appreciate it. My new 420 arrives in 4 days. This was from the shop that just did a lot of work supposedly. Don't understand "we found the Bow but..."
again, thanks

No problem. Congrats and best of luck with Her.

Got tired of the head and shower doors swinging around while at at anchor or even on the slip. They would even bang into the wall when open. Yes, I could just shut them, but when on the hook, I need the airflow from the windows.

So! I installed these.

Cucumis Stainless Steel Door Magnetic Door Stopper Bedroom Door Ultra Mini 2Pcs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076XZN4XV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0gKzBb84CA864

And they work awesome. Just the right size and blend into the "decor" nicely.

Turned out so well I'm getting another to do the guest head door.

Edit. Just installed the guest head door. Screws that come with it are a joke. Get yourself some good SS screws and predrill the wood.

Just so its clear, its located inside / under the triangle storage on the port side as u come down the stairs. Its also where ur salon ac unit is located and the central vacuum.

PUMP OUT QUESTION

On my old 290 Sundancer, the waste deck fill was horizontal and I never had any issues with dripping of any waste as I disconnected the pumpout hose when I finished.

On the 420DA the waste deck fill is vertical and down near the swim platform I always have a few nasty drips that have to be hosed down / disinfected when I disconnect the pump out hose.

Have you all had this same problem? Do you have any techniques to “avoid the nasty drips”?

It's always a good habit to flush the tank with some fresh water and than pump out again so you will already have a hose at the ready anyhow.

My stainless waste cap went overboard this weekend. Anyone know what/where the replacement part is for 44 Sundancer? Not interested in "trial and error" for the exact replacement. Thanks.

AS mitch stated . U want to flush that tank as much as possible … Once u get sludge in the bottom pretty hard to break it up . Ive had great luck dumping cascade pods down the pump out fitting before i take a ride.

That...is a great idea. How many Cascade pods?

And we finally found it! Thanks for all the replies. Best thread!

I apologize in advance for my continued questions but promise to contribute once I get my boat together.
I cannot find replacement rope hangers for the aft locker. Google, Pounder, and others do not have results. Anyone know a source?

Also-looking for a solution to temporarily "plug" the electrical line hole below the aft locker while underway. Way too much water coming in during rains/running, etc. and I know the locker needs to be vented to dry the ropes as well but...

Looks like that is where I will go with it-Thank you

Hey there, looking at doing the same thing - do you know how - which route you used/will use to run the RG cable and 110V for a Plug to that area - I have been contemplating it for weeks and want to reduce the amount of paneling I have to remove - I get really nervous about removing 12 year old panels.....
thanks
Chris
