Official 370 Sundancer thread

Had the survey today and it could not have gone better. I gave the surveyor the list I compiled from this thread. He literally was amazed at the condition of the boat. Said it was the nicest boat of that model he had ever surveyed. He could find really nothing wrong with it at all. He was amazed how clean it was. The surveyor hit it pretty hard with the phenolic hammer though. I was wincing. Found no soft spots or moisture. The hull looked new. Not a blister or crack to be found anywhere. Being in a covered slip its whole life helped its overall condition I am sure.

So we close on it on Saturday. Thanks for all the hints.
Only thing I found wrong was that the half round cushion to make the bed in the aft stateroom and the board that goes under it were missing. I found one cushion. Owner had never used that berth. Owner said he would pay to have a new one made if it did not turn up. I am hoping its somewhere and I missed it. Also the stereo head unit had been upgraded and the six disc changer no longer worked. I assume it was not compatible with the replacement Clarion head unit. The head unit did have satellite radio and a single disc though. And an Aux in so no big deal. The bridge controls for the stereo did work though.

Welcome to the club!

Quite a setup you have there. My system is similar but with much less emphasis on video. I concentrate on audio and use the video only to feed my news habit.. I’m an all Apple guy so the Apple TV is used for access to iTunes. I have a first gen Fusion head unit connected to the factory amp and just replaced all my cockpit speakers again, only this time with Fusion speakers. I also added a BlueTooth unit to the Fusion and spent most of the past summer steaming audio from my iPad or iPhone.

Right now, I’m only looking to boost my Wi-Fi reception from the marina Wi-Fi mesh Network so I can lay off tethering to my iPhone for good reception.

Gene
I solved the aux input problem with a simple 4 button selector switch. 5 bucks.

Anybody get out the six disc changer? Mine not compatible with new head unit. I found one cheap on ebay that is compatible but not sure how to swap them.

Yes, I do. pull your TV to gain access to a hole in the cabinet bottom. You'll probably want to pull the head unit to get clear access to the changer. Undo the brackets holding the changer on each side, unplug it, and slide it back, and up through the hole. If you are lucky the mounting brackets may be in the same spot on the replacement changer.

Removing the TV will depend on how it's mounted, since it's a replacement. The original tv was mounted on a wooden shelf, which slid into the cavity, and there were 2 Philips head screws coming from the below the cabinet and into the shelf.

A friend has a 2017 Sundancer 370 and is having some problems. #1 The TV and outlet for the TV does not work. Where is the breaker. He says he cannot find any that is tripped. #2 While cruising this weekend, a heat warning sensor kicked on and would only allow the boat to run about 7-8 knts. The temp gauges were fine and the warning....was just a warning that there could be a future problem. He knows the warranty will kick and fix the problems, but wanted me to post and see what everyone thought. Thanks

I don't think many of the people on this thread have to newer 370's. I think most of us have the ones that stopped production in 99 although someone may know.

Closed on the 370 Saturday. It is nice as I thought it would be! I did replace two of those push button cabinet door closing mechanisms and the CO monitor in the main salon but other than that I cannot find anything wrong!

Welcome to the small club with the most participation. You have acquired the sweet spot of SeaRay’s portfolio.

Thanks I researched a ton before I decided on the 98 370. It just checked off all the right boxes for the right price. Then to find a literally perfect example 200 yards from my marina I could not believe it.

The issues your friend is having transcend model years. I would do nothing less than stand on the selling dealer’s under warranty cahones until they make it right.
Having said that, issue one is a power to that outlet issue if I read this accurately (check the outlets for that side of the boat breaker. Is it on?). Issue two is your engine computer saving itself. Why is the engine overheating? A wayward diaper in the raw water pickup? An impeller not doing its job? There are a hundred reasons why. Some are warranty, most are not.

Congrats on your purchase and Welcome to the 370 club!

Thanks! After taking possession Saturday we did some digging and found the cushion and wood piece to make the aft cabin into a bed. So nothing missing in fact. I see a small table looking thing strapped to the underside of the engine hatch. Is that to make another berth in the rear seating area? Is there a cushion for that somewhere as well?

The white rectangular table top in the engine hatch goes in the cockpit using one of the tall poles. If you use it with a short pole then it fills in the center of the "U" settee. If you cannot find that cushion insert, I have one. Mine was gone as well, so I had a local shop make a new one for me. I then changed out the table stand for a very beefy high-low adjustable one, but it was too tall to use the insert. I don't think the cushion has ever been sat on. PM me if you are interested. Shipping will be the interesting part.

Thanks I will go down this weekend and search around to make sure its not somewhere. Was there a place it was generally stored?

Mine is generally stored up above in my garage at home (never used it) You'll know it when you find it. If I remember correctly it is much thinner than the aft cabin fillers.

ok, I'm back on fixing the cabin door slider trucks and track

I have removed the screws at the bottom and cut the caulking 7 or 8 times. Something at the top of the fiberglass piece is still secured. Are there screws from behind the headliner holding the forward section of the door cover?
At this point, I can't imagine it's still caulk holding the top of that piece down.
I'll post some pics shortly
