My daughter and her friend stayed on the boat alone last night (they are in their 20s). Good news is they didn't screw up the vacuflush. Bad news is they pumped the water tank dry. Pump was on pushing air when I got there. Took me 30 minutes to get all the air out of the lines so the pump would turn off on its own.

I’m trying to teach my daughter all this stuff at 9, so maybe she’ll have an idea by the time she’s in her mid 20s. Guess I have another decade to pump her brain full of somewhat useful knowledge.

I’m constantly facing the same problem with both my wife and my daughter. They can’t grasp the concept of a fresh water tank running out of water when away from the dock so they use faucets, showers and hoses like they are at home.
I top off the tank when I get back to the dock, and since I use the tank instead of the city water hookup at the dock, I’m always topping off the tank.
The good news is that it keeps the tank fresh.

What do you do to get the air out of the lines?

As if you had nothing else to do...drink beer, catch rays, drink beer...wash, rinse repeat.

You'll be in your '58 by then!

Did the same as footballfan. Keep a 5 gallon bucket on board (general purposes), showed it to the admiral and told her if the water runs out or the holding tank becomes full, this is the alternative. She now constantly keeps and eye on both systems. More time for me to do important stuff; like the beer, relax and repeat duties......

I'm not sure about that. I can barely keep up with what I have lol! The good news is I'm getting this thing whipped into shape.

But its nice to dream!!
