ive got a 92 400 EC. Starboard motor has been overheating at 225. I'm hoping I've just got bad impeller or trash stuck in there restricting water flow. Does anyone have a diagram showing where impeller is and places to check for restricted water flow? This happened right after we went through weeds/debris. Port was overheating too but then magically stopped. I have the starboard seat off. Here's what I'm looking at.

Several things to check.

1) Outside hull strainer. If you ran over grass....it is likely clogged and will not clear itself.
2) Close the seacock and open the inside strainer and remove any debris.
3) Impeller. I would be surprised if the impeller is not damaged. With gas engines, the impeller is on a belt at the front of the engine. On your engine it is probably integrated with the mechanical fuel pump.

Man I actually just got done cleaning the strainers and that did it! Back to a perfect 170. Thanks a lot. Water flowing great.
