Vacuflush poo emergency - it's everywhere

I have cleaned up as much of the mess as I can with the supplies that I have on hand. Thankfully no more smell.

As I reflect back on the past few days I am realizing that the smell actually started WAAAY back on July 2nd. I stopped in Ft. Myers to get some fuel and smelled the dreaded smell. I asked the dock hand if that was we and he said no, it was the pump out (which I was parked next to) so that made sense.

It has gradually gotten worse until I decided to go into the engine room yesterday. Since we have been in the Bahamas since the 5th, I had no real reason to go in there and that was my mistake.

I'll check with Environmental marine but they are in Nassau. I'm up on Green Turtle until the 20th so it might make better sense to wait until I get back to the States. I like the idea of just pulling the entire pump.

I'm now having to endure the kids using "my" bathroom. (I know third world problems...)
There are planes going island to island all day in the Bahamas

You are not too far from my friend's property in the Abacos. They grew up on Man-o-War Cay and own a house there. I sent him a note asking if he knows of any place in the Abacos where you might be able to source the parts.

Excellent. Thank you. We have our smaller 16' boat over her so we are mobile. I'm also going to check in Marsh Harbour.

From my friend:

I would try Edwin's Boat Yard in Man O War - call Chad Albury at 242-577-0235 and tell him that I (Tim Lee) gave them his name. He runs the yard and has a good line on whatever sources there could be around the area for things like that.
Good luck! Let me know if this doesn't help and my friend will dig deeper.

Normally you have to be 3 miles offshore to discharge a holding tank. Wasn’t aware you are allowed to do it while at anchor in Canada?

We should have been outside of the anchorage however at that point I was in an emergency situation and had to make a call. Thankfully our tank only had about 1 day of usage and the majority of the contents of the tank was seawater. It was one of my worst boating days ever. I wouldn't want anyone else to have to deal with what I dealt with. My husband helped but I was the one in the engine room, the one who had to release the hoses that were under pressure and had them explode onto my arms and partially on my face. It was no good. So yeah - when I had everything hooked up I discharged where we were. It was a large anchorage area with very good current/water flow. If faced with the same situation I would do it again.

Thank you. I tracked down a bellows and a seal kit from Nassau and reportedly they were put on the boat yesterday for the trip to the Abacos. We will see if they get here today or tomorrow.

If not, I have a side trip planned to MOW any way and will see what I can dig up.

Not allowed in Canada our marinas usually have pump out service. Please don't do it my children swim here in Georgian Bay

There are no pump outs North of Westview in British Columbia. Overboard discharge (of treated black water) is your only option and it is allowed. We were in Desolation Sound.

It truly is your only option. Feels gross the first time you do it but you get used to it.

Well the parts arrived today via boat and two hours later we are back operational!

It was a crappy job but no none the less, it’s done.

Mark you sure know how to have a good time
