    2000 210 Searay

There is a second screen under the fuel filter. It's a small flat screen that you pull out with a pair of pliers. Get a schematic of that fuel filter before you dive in though. I have a 2007 5.0 that is new to me last year and that thing was pretty dirty, it didn't cause running problems yet but...

    Check Engine on 2006 5.0l

Update, mechanic says the code was for the AIC valve so he changed it. It was very clean but seized. During the test he thought it was still running rough so he looked at the cap and rotor and saw a lot of corrosion and pitting so he changed those, and went ahead and did the plugs too. $850...

    Boat names anyone

Hey, I just bought a SR 220 with the name For Play. I had planned to change it to "The Journey" but it's been a crazy year so haven't gotten around to it,

    Check Engine on 2006 5.0l

Thanks I took it to a mechanic to be working on tomorrow. I want them to look a the code to be sure it isn't something else. Also since I have a smart gauge that shows "check engine" message, he said he will have to clear that code after they change the valve. I'm not sure it that's true or...

    Check Engine on 2006 5.0l

Hi all; I have a new-to-me SR 220 Select with 5.0 Bravo III. 115 hours. Looks and runs great. This weekend I got a beep and a Check Engine message on my smart gauge. It starts rough and needs some throttle to get going. It will stall at idle if I don't feather the throttle. Once I get going on...

    Trim Gauge Sluggish

Hi All; I have a new-to-me 2006 220 Select, 5.0, bravo 3 with 120 hours. The trim works well but the gauge response is sluggish. The needle moves in the correct direction but is slow to react, then swings wildly past the intended point then comes back. It shows full up and full down ok but the...

    Trailer

not sure if this has been said but freshwater vs saltwater should be a consideration. the searay trailers are just powder coated steel. I just bought a loadrite aluminum I beam tandem trailer and I love it. My boat lives on the trailer though and I drive to different lakes when I want to use it...

What's the best engine oil extractor

Hi all, I have a "new to me" 2005 searay select 220 with 5.0 and bravo 3. Runs great and we like it a lot. The engine oil drain hose has disconnected from the bulge plug so I have to figure a way to fish that out in the future but I'd like to change the engine oil now. The dip stick tube has...

    Diagnostic Tool

that zap is no fun that's why we use the insulated plyers. I was just trying to help the guy out and in a pinch it might get you going again. I'd love to know about a diagnostic tool for the consumer if there is one.

    Diagnostic Tool

Thats an easy check without a tool. With the engine idling, pull one spark plug wire and see if it idles worse. If it does then that's not the misfire. When you pull the correct one, the engine idle quality will not change.

    efi vs carb?

I've had both, Carbs that are well maintained (this is key) can be great and dependable. I had MPI on a 2007 90 HP 4 Stroke that was flawless. Easy quick starts with no choke or pumping and steady at all speeds.
