why not be you own broker buyer's agent

to act as a buyers agent or a selling agent on a boat you need to work for a licensed brokerage company. In some states, like FLA, the broker (him/herself) needs to be individually licensed.

    List your searays

Just a heads up to all those owners who are looking to sell their SeaRays in 2010. The selling window for SeaRays in the Mid-Atlantic has always been during a THREE Month Window in the spring!! 2009 it was May, June, July (not really spring but hey, we were in a recession) and 2008 it was...

    MS Judy 240SD Asking Price?

40K ask would put you smack dab in the middle of the pack of 11 comp. boats in the SE USA. There are two at 34,900. and one around 38k. Sold comp boats for 2009 are all over the boards, but would venture a guess that you would be looking around 35,000 on a sale price.

Buying a first used boat: what to expect?

to answer your first post, usually a deal can be found if a boat is bought from a private party. Using a broker to represent you in the deal is a good idea, and a using a marine surveyor to give the boat a full work over will save alot of pains in the long run. Good luck and let me know if you...

    Why don't you call back?

try using a broker to represent you. the brokerage fees come out of the sellers proceeds and it is great to have someone on your side help to navigate through a market full of dead wood.

    About to buy....

if you are financing the deal they should pull a title search, and if you are paying cash you can arrange one yourself. cheap for the piece of mind that it provides.

what's this 240 Sundancer really worth?

just pulled up a few listings and I think the right range in the ask for that boat should be 30k. that is the right price for low hours and all the bells and whistle. Prices will vary in different regions of this great country, but think you could pick on up for 26-27k. just my opinion

Decisions, decisions, some helpful advice needed

I agree with the Lone Ranger, 4000 hrs on a gas engine with no problems must be one in a million, I am sure you can find a comp boat in your price range with less hours, and less potential headaches, I always have my clients get a good survey and gravitate towards a boat where the owner knows...

Need advice on a possible purchase

you must be a gambling man, cause I would venture that to replace and engine, and the potential the elec. wiring and other systems may have to be replaced as well. may be better off, to get a boat in the 5k range as a deal, get a good survey of hull and mechanics, and be ahead of the game...

    NADA or BUC reducing values?

GO AWeigh TO has a good point NADA pricing doesnt reflect location and a monthly changing market that we are in. Best to look on Yacht World to see what the comps are and then on sold boat to get a fair showing of the up to date value that your boat (or potential boat) has in the CURRENT market.
