The other question I have is the lights dont work on the trailer. I'm looking at buying new LED lights and want to replace all the wiring. Its pretty rough. The kits I saw on E-Bay dont come with enough wire lenght. Is there a place that makes bigger kits or should I just buy a roll of trailer wire.
It took allot longer and allot more money then I had planned but the boat was done by the end of summer. I get to take it out a couple times. Now its winterized and shrink wrapped for the winter.
I just ran out of time and ended up taking it to a marina for them to finish the work. They rebuilt...
The motor is all together and back in the boat. Everything working OK. I put all new parts on it water pump starter and such. Just have to hookup the fuel pump. Found the gas tank has allot of water so the tank needs to be pulled and drained. Which I planned on doing since its been setting for a...
The new motor came and I've just been to busy to get it in. I got all the interior out of the back and the rear wall out to make some room to pull. Hopefully this weekend I can get the old one out.
I spoke to the engine builder my engine is done and will ship out on Monday. He told me put the core in the crate and call him when its ready for pickup and he will pay the return shipping. And he didn't charge a core charge.
New long block has been ordered. I found a place that builds them to order. Should be around 230hp.
Its a newer Votec block and he includes an electric fuel pump.
$1465 shipped right to my door. Not a bad deal I thought.
He said I should have it next week.
So the fun begins. I pulled it apart today to find several crake's in the block which I knew would be. I've personal never seen one with popped freeze plugs that didn't crack.
The block is even cracked on the front. Which isn't surprising since we had temps down to 15 below zero this year.
So...
I've been building custom cars for years. Never got into boats till now.
For my custom cars I build all my own engines.
But being this was frozen and the block might be cracked I figured I just replace it.
