I just got through winterizing my 89 280 DA and removed both outdrives to replace the water impellers. When I took off the Starboard outdrive there was gear oil in the drive shaft bellow. Does this mean the seal is bad and needs to be replaced? And is this a job that I can do over the winter...

thank you for your suggestion. I can't open the link you sent me. Can I pressure test withthe outdrive on the boat? And how much pressure does it take to test 10 or 20 pounds? I have gotten two different pressures. Thank you Bill
