yobub - you are spot on. I took that picture of the jabsco handle back in April and yes it was in an in-between state. I have it in the correct position now, so it will pump out to the "deck fitting". I was able to pump it out this morning with no problems. thank you for this explanation! I...
Thank you. Do I need to do anything with the switch in the head (see picture) ? Turn on the macerator? I'm assuming I would only use that if I was out away from the shore and pumping overboard ?
First year with the boat, so I've never had the pleasure of pumping it out. I need all the advise I can get on how this procedure works. Please provide all the details that is needed. Please include any steps I could do during this pump out that would make it easier to winterize this portion of...
Roger that sir. I wish I had the time to pull mine. I'm getting into my busy time at the job and I'm just not sure when I can get to it. When I do, I'll post back as well what I find. Thanks again for staying on this....
J.B. - As far as both circ pumps going bad at the same time...... I'm not entirely sure that is necessarily the case for either of us. Could it be possible whatever the root cause of the problem is it failed on one engine and the PO didn't notice it, then the second engine failed in the same way...
Is it possible there was a bad run with a batch of the circulating pumps? Maybe there was an overheat condition and that heat caused the brass impeller to prematurely fail? Sorry - spit balling here. I do get where you're coming from. Then you add my situation on top of yours and it just seems...
I've only owned the boat since april and only had it on the water twice. I've had a full tank of gas, holding tank full of water - 30 gallons, 85 degree day, lake temp 83 degrees with 4 adults and a kid. When I initially pulled the boat off the trailer and launched - engines were running for...
Near as I can tell my stuff is completely stock. And you already know I'm having the same problem. I'm amazed that with the circulation pump's impeller being cracked like that the engine doesn't overheat consistently.
Thanks JB. I've seen other posts on the "not removing engines" type solution for this repair. I checked out your thread. Happy that it worked out for you - well done ! I'm going to enjoy the boat the rest of the season and get some other smaller projects done that I can get taken care of during...
Thanks Phil ! Yes - looks easy enough. Still working on other issues too. Had both lower shift/throttle cables replaced. I can now find neutral and I'm getting better with my slow speed maneuvering. When we pull up to the raft-up I didn't see anyones eye's bulging out of their heads this time -...
Hey everyone. Finally got the boat back out again (2004 280DA Twin 4.3's). Engines seems to be running too cool/cold. Lake temp = 82 degrees, Air temp = 90 degree's. Both engines running ~113 on digital smart gauge and same on analog gauges. Impellers replaced this season. I'm thinking T-Stat's...
Thanks Patrick. I was replaying the video in my head when I drove it up on the trailer. I got it in between the bunks on the first try, but it bounced a little sideways and caused my bow to turn to the left a little. I backed the boat off a little, got it straight and gave it a little throttle...
