Has anyone extended the hoses on this flush system to the transom? The port engine port isn't too bad, but the starboard is a muscle spasm in the lower back waiting to happen.
Would be interested in routing and fittings used on the transom. TIA
Wanted to thank everyone for their contribution to this important topic. I ended up with a Regal 2860 (no hate mail plz ), roughly the same size as the 290, but heavier with a 9K dry weight. Both fine boats, but the SEARAY forum is MUCH better :smt038
Like the idea of pinning the...
Getting mixed signals from the Baltic folks, one guy says all their models except 6.5 have inflatable keel, other guy says only 8.5 and above. Anyone have a 7.5 that can confirm inflatable keel like this...
I'm fabricating a dinghy engine cradle using std steel for mounting above the swim platform. I know stainless is the best option, but very costly. What would be the best option for coating/painting/protecting the steel?
Understand the shoot thru suffers attenuation from the hull. Of course, the transom mount can be effected by turbulent flow...
Leaning toward transom if only because it seems easier (and cheaper) DIY option.
My 290 has a Raymarine C70 Nav/GPS. Desire to add digital sounding capability for offshore and freshwater use. Not interested in drilling a big hole below the waterline and had problems with thru hull mount on previous boat, so looking at transom mount options:
1. DSM30 (600W) with Airmar P66...
I ended up a little sideways on the first attempt at landing on the trailer. I caught it early but not before the hull encountered a carpeted bunk at an odd angle. I was able to polish out most of the bunk residue, except for the portion of the "V" shown below, about an 8in x 1in abrasion...
A week ago I bought a new boat (2008, not a Sea Ray tho I own a 240SD) with a 2007 Pacific Boat triaxle trailer. Today I took the rig to the trailer manufacturer who fortunately is only a few miles from me. Primary issue is cracking on the sidewall of the tires on the port side. I did...
Erik - appreciate reply. Most of the offshore boating forum guys highly recommend EOH. There seems to be on-going debate whether all electric should be used with salt. As you say, cleaning mandatory regardless of mechanism.
I'm certain I will dump the surge at this point. I've found a...
