    Where to get charger/converter

My battery charger/converter in my 2001 300 Sundancer went south with the ducks this past winter. So, it looks like a new one is in order. Any recommendations on where to get an inexpensive one, and what to shop for when buying one?

    AC not cooling

XravenX Thanks for the comments and the point to R22. Yes the compresser does kick on. And yes, I am not an "HVAC" guy, so use of correct terminology in that area is not something I focus on. I did google "Freon R22" and got a supprising number of hits. I figure there is a possible...

    AC not cooling

Last season my AC worked fine, not cooling quite as well as it use to. This season, the Control unit appears to be working fine, the thermastat appears to work OK, good stream out of the port site, but no cool air (just air flow as the fan works continusously). Someone told me it may need...

    outdrive corrosion

What causes outdrive corrosion?? I was told it mainly happens when the boat is moving, or when someone docked around you has a power cord in the water. In bracish water, is there a risk of additional, significant, corrosion over the winter months??

    Mercathods

My mariana mecanic said my mercathod is discolored and is bad again. This will be 2 (rear transom) in the last 2 years. Is this typical?? Also, I was just thinking of replacing the external unit, will that do the trick, or is additional diagostics recommended??

Throttle maxed out and rpm/speed low

Both engines were affected (meaning I had to give more throttle to each engine. However the difference in the left engine was more pronounced (could be a cable problem as well).

Throttle maxed out and rpm/speed low

Thanks Jeff... I'll check that out. I do keep it in the water year round, and have not cleaned the bottom this year. The last time I powerwashed the bottom was last July.

I too would be interested in this cable assembly. I have a lot of play in my steering and just chauked it up to older age.

Throttle maxed out and rpm/speed low

Thanks, I will try both. If anyone else has any other ideas I would greatly appreciate it. The big thing is I wanted to be sure it was not something with the outdrives. But given both engines appear to be impacted, I am thinking something other than individual engine/drive train.

Throttle maxed out and rpm/speed low

I have a 2001 SunDancer 300. The last 2 trips out, I've noticed she seems sluggish to come up on plane, and this last trip I had to bury the port throttle to reach 3800 RPM (and desired speed of 32mph). For this boat, that seems slow. As a side note, I had more left in the starboard...

    Losing outdrive lube

My SR tech had to preasure test the outdrive to find my issue. I had to have the Gimble bearing replaced. However, after it was back in the water, the steering is now jumpy. Forgot to check the fluid level... so down to the boat tomorrow for a look.

    battery dead or just wounded?

My mechanic told me the batteries tend to go after 3 years regardless of quality, so don't waste money on the sealed flavor. Don't know how accurate that is, but this guy tends to be right more times than not.
