    sanitation vent filter location???

Find the vent through hull then go inside and find the vent tube. IF she has a filter you should be able to see it. Mine is on the port side behind the couch. You have to remove the forward side cover to get to it.

    Holes in bilge floor?

If you are confident that the water is not coming out of those holes then seal them to prevent it. If those screws were not sealed when they were installed in 2005 water WILL get by them. My .02 cents.

    Holes in bilge floor?

They cant be going all the way through. They would look like a sprinkler if they did. The holes have allowed water to weep into the glass in the hull. What you are seeing is the water being forced back out. That's why it stops after a while. I would take a larger drill bit, tape the bit about a...

    6.5 Onan

Onan is a great generator when they are running but they can be very tempermental. Like electricaldoctor said I bet it's a sensor and my bet it is the one on your exhaust. It is a high temp shutoff switch. Mine was corroded and lost the ground to the elbow so the generator shutdown like it was...

    1985 360 - Bow A/C Fumes

My 355 does not have a passage for water from the bilge to move forward. The compartment below the step in the galley is sealed. Air intake for the front air unit is in the forward cabin below the closet door. There is no way that air is from the engine space. Most likely, the fumes are coming...

Engine Failure - Threw a Rod - Did Water Get Into Cylinder Causing This?

You cant say that 1400 pounds caused you to throw a rod. It depends on way more factors than weight aboard. That said, that's a lot of people on a boat that size. If you tear the motor down you should be able to tell if it was water ingestion, mechanical failure or a freak boat thing. Atleast...

    6.5 MCCK Onan Generator

Ken, I feel your pain. Onan is a great generator when they are right but they are a real PITA when they have a problem. At first I would say you are getting a lean pop when the motor accelerates but not if it is spewing fuel. Maybe they didn't get something right in the rebuild? When I search...

First Boat Recommendation for the Chesapeake Bay

I think most of us would agree that we usually buy our first boat only to learn what we should have bought in our first boat. "2 foot-itis" is real and expensive. Take your time and talk to owners of different models but most importantly go out and look. Take advantage of ride offers and demos...

Bottom paint peeling after 6 months

I dont know what paint was on there before the Trinidad was applied. Trinidad is a hard epoxy paint that has to have a good surface to adhere to. This is probably why is is peeling. That hull looks like the old paint was in bad shape and there was little effort made to clean it. Get your money back.

Bottom paint peeling after 6 months

The stern and tabs are in the most turbulent area when the boat is making way. That's where problems will show up first. If the paint was thin I would say they didn't get enough thickness but coming off in sheets is caused by a lack of preperation. The rest is coming off too it will just take...

water in bilge, black stains- thoughts?

This may be fresh water coming from your system or possibly condensation from your AC. As for the tea stains, I agree with the others. You have some rotten wood in one (or more) of those pads.

Hints and tips for practicing single-engine maneuvering?

Practice is a great idea. Remember though, the wind will never be calm and there will always be a dock full of people. As it has been said.."be calm." Learn to use the wind to counter the stern walk you will encounter. Learn to use pilings to help turn the boat into the slip. Learn to ask those...
